N-400 June 2015 Filers

So I opened up official service request with USCIS since there is no progress in my case since I did Finger prints since 07/06/2015 almost three months. Here is the official reply.

" Due to excessive work load that is not related to your case we are anticipating delay in processing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicate cases in order they are received. We apologize for any inconvenience "

What the fish ! I thought they will say case is pending security background check or within normal processing time. This is strange reply, any thoughts !

Oh man what a PIA. Sorry to hear that. Notice they say "USCIS is committed to adjudicate cases in order they are received" not that they do actually do cases in order, just that they are "committed to" it...

I think you can be lucky or unlucky with Service Requests. First time I inquired they just quoted their bogus statistics ("you are still within normal processing time") at me. Then someone put in a Service Request asking for a status update.

But unfortunately these highly competent and extremely polite public servants [little bit of irony there...] managed to completely garble the request so now I have been sent a new biometrics appointment for two weeks time. I called and spoke with them but they couldn't tell me anything, said I would have to write a special letter to them to have the appointment cancelled. Other than that they had no idea. (I am leaving out the part where the first Tier 1 hung up on me after 10 seconds for no reason at all.)

This is the most incompetent and unpleasant bureaucracy I have ever had to deal with. They seem to be completely unaccountable, sitting on their absolute power over people's fates and determined not to be helpful or polite.

This is crazy the only time you should be doing second finger prints if your finger prints are unreadable and they usually sent notice of 2nd FP within two weeks of first one.

I am also in similar situation, my FP was done on 7/13 and since then no update on my case whatsoever. My wife who applied with me has her case udpated for interview but not mine.

How did you open service request? online or via phone?

@GOLFER: If you don't mind can you please tell me how did you open the SR? When I try it online I cannot and it says "My case is within normal processing time and a case cannot be opened". My FP was done on 7/13. Nothing since.

You can call USCIS and speak to TIER1 and ask them to open a service request for you. But again its upto them to open a SR or not.

My husband had his biometrics taken July 6th, too, and just like you we have heard nothing. Nothing has changed online...it still says his case was accepted June 17th.

Obviously these people have no idea how frustrating it is for all of us. I am convinced that my husband's file has been sitting on some bozo's desk since mid-July, but then he went on vacation for a few weeks, then had to spend a few days filling out his fantasy football forms, then he took the kids to the State Fair, and then his sister got married, and, boy, he had to hang out with the guys for an hour or two every day and complain about all the work that was piling up on his desk.

Nothing else explains why other people who applied to the same service center (St. Paul) at the same time my husband did have already taken the oath!!!

"Processing in the order received," my foot! They should be ashamed. Except, of course, as I mentioned earlier, they don't have any idea what we are going through.

BTW, my husband is 74 years old, retired, never had so much as a parking ticket, worked for one company his entire career, and moved from free health care to our abysmal system. Oh, he also moved a considerable retirement savings to America with him. Obviously not the sort of person USCIS wants in this country!!!

I am also in the same boat...did finger printing on July21st..nothing happened after that. Still online shows "case recieved"....Others from same day from same office (BOS) finished interviews. I don't know when this wait will be over.

I had my interview in Boston done and they did not check " approve" . Said needs more documents and checked " Written decision"

BTW EVERYBODY with 3 Yea rule - bring all the evidence with you! I bought just taxes and it failed it ( I assume) - stupid me.

I couldn't have said any better. Yes this will be over one day and there is light in the end of the tunnel this is my 16th year in this immigration system through employment H1's, EADs , AP's Green Card, and now N-400. This is a reward of following the right honest path. And not to deal with USCIS ever again is a huge relief to say the least. I wish you good luck in your case.
