05/11/2018: Mailed documents I130, I485, I131,I693, NBC for Adjustment of Status

05/16/2018: Received Date/ Priority Date - NOA Received

05/25/2018: Received NOA Bio-metrics for I485 Appt: 06/10/2018

06/10/2018: Bio-metrics are completed

06/12/2018: Received RFE requesting for a Birth Certificate for both parents

07/28/2018: Responded to RFE, sent their non availability of birth certificate copy

08/02/2018: Online status changed to " Request for Evidence was Received"

08/29/2018: Made an info pass appointment requesting for expediting Travel document as parents had to travel India. Expedite request was rejected 

09/14/2018: I131 Parole document was Approved

06/12/2018: Received RFE requesting for a Birth Certificate for both parents

07/28/2018: Responded to RFE, sent their non availability of birth certificate copy

08/29/2018: Made an info pass appointment requesting for expediting Travel document as parents had to travel India. Expedite request was rejected

Finally! On February 19, Hugh received six identical emails saying that his interview had been scheduled. This was the first info received from USCIS since the receipt of his application June 16. We were out of the country at the time, so the contents of the email was almost as frustrating as the eight months of silence had been: we have scheduled a interview, but ha-ha-ha, we aren't going to tell you when it is!!! Bloody Hell! I guess they wanted to have yet another high-and-mighty moment over us!!

Luckily we had my brother collecting our mail whilst we were gone. An agonizing week later he emailed a photo of The Letter showing Hugh's interview date: March 28. Whew! Since we weren't coming home until March 10, we were quite relieved. Of course, an 8:30 interview at the opposite end of the Cities is going to be a real pest to get to (cue the final blizzard of the season!) but he will be there!!

So, hang in there everyone who is still waiting. And please update our timeline.

Hello all,

My husband I and filed our n400 together.our local office is chicago. Filing date June 1st 2015. Since then I already recieved my citizenship last sept. My husband had his FP done on July 18 2015 but nothing since then. The current processing date is July 28 2015. What should we do? He did one e inquiry but received a standard processing delay reaponse. Please help. Thanks

There are a few of us, me included, with exactly the same story. My wife received her citizenship in November, and I've had nothing on my case since I did fingerprints back in September.

I also applied in June and did my finger prints in July. The case status online says "Case Was Received" and has not changed for nine months. I did several service requests and received standard replies. Recently, I spoke with one of the officers over the phone and he told me that my case is stuck in the FBI name check. He said they cannot do anything until the FBI does not finish their work. I decided to contact my congressman's office and ask to follow up my case with USCIS on my behalf. I would suggest you to do the same. I am sure someone is not doing their work properly . Maybe the contracting company who is doing the background checks for the applicants who applied in June 2015 is not working they way they should. It is nothing but a bunch of slackers not doing their job on time.

Good advice. Some background checks take a long time. We don't really know what they do. They may be pulling police records from every country you've lived in for all we know. But after a point it becomes ridiculous. In many cases, from what I've seen, contacting your representatives helps. I can only imagine that this means that the background check was already done and that your case was only held up for some bureaucratic reason. On the other hand sometimes you just hear back that the background check isn't done yet, which probably means they are waiting for a piece of information they really need.

So it looks like it is not just chicago that is the problem. we plan on caling the 800 number today and try to get a tier 2 officer on the phone and then contact the congressman's office. Did you get a response from your representatives office yet?
