N-400 June 2015 Filers

Dear N400applicant and GOLFER:

Thank you for trying to put this agonizing process into perspective. It would indeed be interesting to know how many on the graph have lost interest and quit reporting. I think it is closer to GOLFER's figures than N400applicant's.

My husband is still stuck at "your case has been received." Well, isn't that jolly! Yes, we KNOW it was received on June 16th, but what on earth has happened to it since then?

He called yesterday and got a surprisingly pleasant young man who performed the usual script reading, but managed to do so with at least some empathy. "The St. Paul office is currently processing mid-February applications." First of all, "currently" is incorrect since that statement is dated August 31st. It is now past mid-October. Why can't we even get more up to date status about an office? Second, why, oh, why, can't these customer service people even assure you that your biometrics (taken July 6) have been correctly attached to your file? And third, why can't they tell you if your file is still sitting in a heap at the lockbox site or if it is sitting on someone's desk in St. Paul? Why can't they assure you that it hasn't been lost? Why can't they explain why some folks took the oath a month ago, yet applied at the same time?

My husband really wanted to be able to vote in our local school board election this year. That's not going to happen. But, collect his taxes on his sizable pension and investment earnings...no problem with that!

So, no it is NOT just a bunch of questionable Egyptians in the final 10 or 28%. There is at least one law-abiding Scottish 74-year-old there. I'll bet that most of those from questionable parts of the globe were accepted within weeks of their applications. Wouldn't want to be accused of racial profiling now, would USCIS? No, that would make too much sense.

The anger I have toward USCIS is coming close to ruining our lives. I have never felt so helpless! I cannot believe there is NOTHING one can do to get any info out of these people. I wish 60 Minutes would expose their inhuman treatment of applicants.

Dear Hugh & Suzy,

You are not helpless, there is much you and many people in your circumstances can do to raise the public awareness and bring attention to our collective pleas!

Our Founding Principles are an enduring testament to the very best that America represents.

Despite all the issues and hardships we may face, there is no other country on the surface of the earth where the wrongs can be righted as in the US.

Be active, blog, speak up, share your story with as many people as you can. That's Political action and it's what precisely needs to be done to solve this issue. No other cocuntry I know of honors in deed, not just codifies in paper, your inherent right to speak up and do so freely, as long as you do so peacefully and lawfully while expressing your grievances.

Don't ever think you are helpless or unable to do anything, there is much each one of us can do if we have unwavering faith in ourselves and in overall good this country represents.

Hi. Submitted my N400 application on 6/5 and did my bio on 6/28. There has not been any update on my status online. Is there anyone experiencing this?

I mailed it to Dallas, TX lockbox. I am beginning to worry.

There is something wrong with the applications received by USCIS on June 16th. My application is one of them. I can tell this for sure because my siblings also applied the same time as me, but their applications were received by USCIS on June 17, and they all have already received their Oath Ceremony letters. My case status online says CASE WAS RECEIVED. I did my fingerprints on July 8th but the status was not updated for the fingerprints. I wonder if my fingerprints are even attached to my application. There is something seriously wrong with this process. If a case status is not updated after it was received there is no way one can find out if a notice was lost in the mail. When you call the USCIS they read you the USCIS text over the phone. Sometimes I think my interview letter might have been lost in the mail and I don't know it is lost because the status is not being updated. Like it did not update for my fingerprint and is stuck at CASE WAS RECEIVED.

GOLFER , I upvoted your post, for sarcastic Great work USCIS!

But, in all fairness, I think the actual number of delayed applications is somewhere close to 10% , and not 28%.

Not only because Forum is scientifically in-accurate sampling platform, but also because I have a feeling that some of those who show no case updates simply abandoned this forum or weren't posting anything for a while, and I have no reason to distrust the earlier Congressional reports where the 10% were mentioned .

I agree with your post our data is not accurate but that is all we have to play with. However it will get close to 10% range by the end of November or after November counting from June 2015. Remember as per USCIS even if your local office is working full steam with low case load whole process should take 5 months. That is the minimum they report in their official processing times. Lets hope we see some forward progress in our cases by the end of the November.

You are most likely stuck in background checks and name check like several other people. Status will update when you are inline for interview or interview is scheduled.

Dear Suzy,

There is no harm writing to your Senator or Congressman/Women and let them know of your frustrations with USCIS and ask for the status update on your case. I did, haven't got the response yet as there letter said give us 6 weeks to get response from USICS.

I don't think your case will be updated after finger prints are completed. It gets updated once they sent your "inline for Interview"

Dont worry your not the only one, there are so many lads here waiting just like you are. If you think they lost your interview letter then just call USCIS and ask if your interview has been scheduled. At-least they will provide you with that update.
