Question about the "E-Notification" Form

Hey guys,

I finally mailed off our I-130 packet this past week (Tuesday) via USPS 2-day priority mail to the Chicago lockbox. According to USPS tracking, my package was delivered on Thursday May 28th at 11:00 local time (I did not request a return receipt).

I attached the G-1145 form to the top of my application packet. My question is how long will it take to receive a notification from USCIS that they have received my application? Or will I receive one? A friend of mine who went through the K1 process said he never received a notification.

We received e-mail of NOA1 in about 3-4 days after they received our packet. If that helps.

That's a pretty quick response. I take it you didn't file the g-1145.

Yes, we had G-1145 attached on top of our packet. If you saw they received your packet just by tracking it, it doesn't mean the USCIS opened it yet. They aren't in rush to respond, believe me USCIS were pretty prompt in sending e-mail notifications (NOA1, NOA2) at least in our case. NVC is the one that answers with at least a week delay.

I filed the G-1145 and never received an email notification. I knew they had received it through tracking and I knew they had opened it because the check cleared the bank. Two weeks after they received my I-130 packet, I received our hardcopy NOA1 in Australia. Ridiculously frustrating but not much you can do.

I know, at least you issued a check... I wonder can a money order be tracked?

I've heard of them being tracked before. Try calling wherever you got it from.
