Hi. I have a friend who go to Singapore just to get a police clearance because as far as I know my friend told me that when she went to the embassy to have the interview her visa approval put on-hold because of the police clearance coming from Singapore because she stayed there for 1 year. Unfortunately, my friend need to go to SG because SG doesnt hae a consulate here and physical appearance is must[/quotte

Isabela, you mean I can just ask someone to submit my folder containing my supporting documents as well as the form to the Singapore police head office? What about the payment, can I ask her too to pay it in cash as soon as she gets there and give my application for clearance. Would that be possible? How did you pay for it?

I have an Aunt who works there, so if I could ask a favor to her so she can give my application to the police office.

My wife had her previous boss drop off application and money. About three weeks later she picked it up and sent to me. NVC completed our case and interview is Thursday. My wife is on the way to the hotel as I type this. Edited by Isabela

Oh, so meaning I can have my aunt drop off my application with the cash inside my folder, right? And ask her to return after three weeks to get it or maybe they could just forward it directly to my mailing address here in HK.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, BEST OF LUCK FOR YOUR WIFES interview. Wish you both happiness always.

Yes someone can drop it off for you and pay in person. They will give you a date to pick it up or you can have them mail it to Hong Kong. I think it's a extra 5 Singapore dollars by mail. Make sure you review their application and website for instructions.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hello everyone, we are in the process of gathering our documents since the NVC told my fiancé that our case has been forwarded here in HK.

My question is regarding the police clearance, I am aware that I have to get a police Clearance here in HK since I've been working here since Oct.2008. But before I came here in HK, I also have worked for 2 yrs and few months in Singapore (2006 to Oct 2008). To my question "DO I STILL NEED TO GET A SINGAPORE POLICE CLEARANCE TOO, even though it has been 7 yrs.?

Thank you and I appreciate any answers.

You don't need the checklist for the police report in Singapore. In fact, you are not going to get an official checklist from NVC until you submit imcomple supporting documents. Don't waste your time waiting for it. Instead, what I did was, I provide them a copy of the NOA2 and a screen shot of the case number with my name on it (you can get it here https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/). The guy didn’t even mentioned that word “checklist”.

All they want to see a proof from you that you are applying for the US immigration.

If you are still not sure, call them and talk to them

Good luck!
