Hi...guys

Hope you can help.

I am a temporary Green card holder. My temporary card will be expired in year 2008, so if I would move to a new place this year and again in next year (few months before expiration)........do I need to contact USCIS for updating?

Thanks.

Yup, just file the AR-11 to let the DHS know that you've moved (needs to be done within 10 days of moving). Then, when you come to file the I-751, you will need to include an additional sheet of paper listing all your addresses since you got your conditional green card (this is what I just did as I moved twice since I received my conditional green card). The I-751 instructions tell you everything you need to do.

if your spouse is also moving then they will need to file I-865 within 30 days...

I didn't know about this -- what happens if you don't file within 30 days? We moved in November, could we still file this now? :o

Have just printed it out and hubby has just signed it. It'll be in the mail today... (amusingly though, I've been the one supporting him for the past 2 years since I'm working full-time and he's a student! :P )

Thanks for your help guys.

What I understand is to file AR-11 for myself and I-865 for my husband (as sponsor)

I have few more questions about filling the form AR-11.

1. Do I need to add the date of my 1st entered the US (after getting my Fiance visa from my country) or my 2nd entered the US after I got Green card when we traveled out of US?

2. What is A# number? ....... Is that the same number mentioning on my K-1 Visa or Green card's Approval notice?

3. After filing, do they notice us by email or we need to check the changing address status on website?

Thanks

1. Use date you entered the US with your K1

2. A# is found on your Greencard

3. no notice is given... if you have any outstanding applications.. i.e removal of conditions then you also need to call the 0800 and change your address with them... if not then the AR11 is all you need.

I don't know about that, I was told I had to write down the place and date of my LAST entry into the US. I went back to my country 3 times since getting the Green Card (last time was during the Holidays) and they told me I had to write down the last one.

Best of luck! (F)

Ok, I was kinda freaking out now, thinking I might have filled out the form with the wrong place and date, but I just found this:

The law requires nearly all non-U.S. Citizens1 to report a change of address within 10 days of moving by completing a Form AR-11. Abiding by these legal requirements and completing the necessary forms does not update an address on any applications or petitions pending with USCIS. Non-citizens with pending cases must do both.

Most customers can now notify USCIS to change their address on a pending case online here on our website. Non-citizens can also now complete the Form AR-11 online here on our website.

If you choose to change your address online using our Online Change of Address Notification tool, you will need to have some information available. Please have the following information available before you begin:

- Your receipt notice or other notice we sent you showing your receipt number (if you have a pending case with USCIS).

- Your new address

- Your old address

- If you have filed a petition for a family member, please have the names and biographical information for that person.

- When you last entered the United States (if you cannot remember this information please fill in an approximate date)

- Where you last entered the United States (through what port of entry you entered - whether by land, sea or air)

https://egov.immigration.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

Hope this clarifies things a little!

Best wishes! (F)
