My fiancé went to pick up the packet 3 today and they told him to have all the documents and bring it back in 2 days. That is not possible for us. I tried calling the customer service but it hangs up. Would it be ok if he went back in 2 days and just told them the situation that we need more time?

The info on their website states to bring it all back when ready to schedule. http://nepal.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fianc-e-of-a-us-citizen.html

Perhaps because they are expediting immediate relative immigrant visas, they are telling people to return quickly. Could always go ask in person or try contacting the consular section again > http://nepal.usembassy.gov/visas.html

My fiancé just picked up packet 3 today and they say interview is in one week! I have not sent my affidivit of support, tax return, and w2 to him yet and now I'm worried cus I'm gonna have to scan them and send thru email. Which means it's not original. They better accept it since they didn't give enough time! Soo frustrating!

P.s. Tried changing the interview time but they said next one is In 3 months!

I know sometimes they just sneak everything up on us after all the time waiting and dealing with frustrations. Honestly, don't make the mistake of not providing original documents if that is what they ask for. They will give them back when the process is completed so don't mess this up by thinking that scanning it will work when they want originals. Use express mailing service, I know it can be expensive but it is worth it in the long shot. Don't jeopardize this for you guys, it's better that you actually even got a reply for a date that is so soon some people are still waiting to hear back who've been waiting longer than you have. Just do what you have to do to get it done because this is what it is unless you want to wait another 3-5 months which is usually the case when you want to reschedule. Just send the originals!

DO NOT SEND COPIES! They want the original. When I handed over our affidavit the only thing he looked at was the amount and the signature, especially the signature to make sure it was the real deal.

Over night express it. Expensive but nothing during this process is cheap.
