I met my hubby online in a MSN chatroom called "Soft and Gentle" (get your mind out of the gutter people :P... it was named after the 2 people who created the room, Soft Southern and Gentle Giant)

It was about the 3rd chatroom I tried and I ended up staying for a long time.... I met my hubby about a month or so after joining the chatroom.....

Hubby said he usually only hung out in sports type chatrooms but he was bored one day and decided to try a different chatroom.. he did a search and "Soft and Gentle" came up and he liked the name and decided to pop in....

I think we joined around the same time but we were never in the room at the same time and then when I first started noticing him... I thought he was the biggest brat.... There were actually 2 guys that were really bratty but they never were in the room at the same time.... I found out a few weeks later that they were in fact the same guy.... my darling hubby liked to mess with people so he had two names he would sign in with :P

then around Valentine's day ( a few weeks after first meeting him), he sent me a Valentine's E-card that had cats on it and the card said something like..."i know you like cats"

I was like woah, he actually remembered stuff I said... we started talking more and more and we progressed to phone calls and we met face to face about 8 months later and it was love at first sight...

the rest is history... (L) we have been together now for about 5 years... :)

03/27/07: Telegram "sent" to fiance to pick up packet 3... never received

04/02/07: I contacted the "embassy" to find out status of case and set up pick up date

04/04/07: Fiance picked up packet 3

04/05/07: I called toll-free # here to set up appointment for my fiancé

05/10/07: Interview scheduled for 7:30AM... Visa Approved!!!!!!!!

05/14/07: Picks up passport/visa and brown sealed envelope

05/15/07: Paperwork for the carta blanca turned in

05/24/07: Carta Blanca received and bought plane ticket

06/04/07: Entry into the US... together again!!!!!!!

08/07/07: MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We spent a week there and when I was leaving I thought I'd never see him again...

But little did I know... that he did want to see more of me...LOL

I love my hubby!!

I met my wife here in Florida while she was on a student visa, in 2003. She had been in America , studying/attending classes for over 10 years at various universities throughout the USA, by the time I had met her. We married the next year, then lived together for almost a year before deciding that she go back to Turkey to serve her 2 year HRR for her j-1 visa.

That last decision...was a very tough one.

Now, nearly 3 years after our marriage, we are finally nearing the end of this grueling immigration process.

April 16, 2004 Married in Saint Augustine, Florida.

March 7, 2005 Wife left for Istanbul to serve J-1 2 year HRR. Was a very bad day at Black Rock.

May 23, 2006 USCIS receives application for I-130

June 12, 2006 Noa1

Sept 7, 2006 Noa2 I-130 approved

Oct 10 ,2006 Received fee bill from NVC

Nov 13 ,2006 Received Packet 2 DS-230

Jan 4, 2007 Mailed Packet 2 to NVC

Jan 22, 2007 RFE from NVC aaarrrrgggghhh!!!!!!!!

Feb 28, 2007 NVC received "checklist" response and original documents for the RFE

March 13, 2007 Case completed at NVC! Whoooohoooo!! Ankara, here we come!!!!

March 15, 2007 Case fowarded to Ankara Embassy

April 4, 2007 Interview. Wife gets handed the little green paper. Not good. Need to submit a few more things.

April 9, 2007 Items mailed back to Embassy. Crossing fingers, rubbing the "rabbit's foot", etc,..that this may FINALLY be the end.

April 14, 2007 Visa delivered! Wife is finally going to be on her way back home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

April 20, 2007 Wife enters through JFK. The days of grabbing my dinners at the WalMart deli....are now officially over!!!
