You can add one another to your credit cards as authorized users, some cards even give you extra rewards for that.

Affidavits from friends are good but they are considered secondary evidence.

Since you live with your family the person in whose name the lease is should write an affidavit which they get notarized saying "I, so and so rent apartment at such and such address and do hereby confirm that so and so and his wife reside with me and pay me such and such rent" Signed, dated and notarized. There is your proof of living together.

Like people above said, photos are excellent! They love to see photos and best photos are candid ones, where you're doing something together.

Definitely send in tax for 2014, since it is now May the 2014 taxes are mandatory.

If I got a power of attorney. Do I become her power of attorney, or she for me?

You can do it for each other, which means that she will have the power of attorney on your behalf, and you will have one on her behalf.

Most banks have notaries public.

Perhaps prepare your wills, etc. and have them notarized at the same time as the affidavit.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Will a notarized affidavit from our grandparents who we live with be a strong piece of evidence?

Notarized means that they have shown ID and a notary public watched them sign it. It doesn't mean the information within is accurate. Affidavits are low on the evidence scale but as this is an RFE it doesn't hurt to submit as much as you can. There are lots of threads on this forum about evidence submitted. You can compare theirs to yours and see what you can come up with based on the other submissions and ideas from this thread. A lawyer cannot help you except to help with wills and powers of attourney, or as a notary.

Well they don't have to be with you but they do have to be at a notary yes. Your grandparents can write and sign an affidavit at any notary and mail it to you. Depending on your state, most UPS stores, banks, etc, have a notary. Most countries have some type of notary as well.

Hello,

Based on what you sent initially, I don't think you sent enough evidence and what you did send doesn't span the duration of your marriage. 1 month statement of any item doesn't proof ongoing relationship.

-Since you received an RFE, I would suggest sending ALL bank statements from the entire marriage (2012-current)

-Send tax transcripts (2012 - 2014) instead of tax returns. You can download them for free online at www.irs.gov

-Send as much photos as possible. You can print 2 or more on an 8.5 x 11 sheet.

-I know you mentioned you live with grandparents, have them write an affidavit to that effect

-Do you have any utilities in both of your names? Any mail you've received addressed to both of you?

-Health insurance?

-Phone bills (I'd send all the monthly statements)

-IDs/DLs showing same address

-Are you beneficiaries on any accounts, 401k, insurance etc?

Good luck!

why are tax transcripts better then tax returns? can i send both tax transcripts and tax returns?

Because tax returns doesn't show that the taxes were transmitted/filed. The tax transcripts from IRS proves that the taxes were filed and accepted. There's no reason to send both.

As you were asked before to please fill out your timeline in your profile.

No one knows if you will get separated during your interview.

Yes, of course you need to follow through with your RFE in order to remove conditions successfully.

Yes, bring photos, you don't have to explain to them why you don't have a child yet and yes explain why you don't have a lease.

If you are reading this on a phone please get off the phone and use a computer because you seem to miss already posted

explanations and you aren't making use of the VJ search function and the guides.

Study this guide : http://www.visajourney.com/content/751guide

You have a lot of questions and that is ok and it is what the forums are for, however some answers would come easily with

trying to search them out with the search feature and the tabs on top of the page ( on a computer).

After you have studied and done your research and something is still not clear come back and ask your questions.

Good evening. So my wife received a letter stating more evidence is needed. We submitted the following last year.

Joint tax return for 2013

Joint bank account statement for one month

Another joint bank account statement for one month

Billing statement from T-Mobile

Should we have submitted more months of the bank statements, that is all the monthly statements since we joined together in 2012? Will another joint tax return for 2014 be good? We currently live with her grandparents, and have since 2012, so we don't have a lease yet. Nor any kids.

Are affidavits a good evidence? Do they usually come from family or friends?

Please, any help is much appreciated.

Thank you.

You have to submit more than a month of bank statements. You need to submit about two years of the statements. You need affidavits from friends and relatives stating how they know you as a married couple. Billing statements for more than a year. Insurance cards with both your names. Apartment leases with both your names, wills, power of attorney. Tax returns for the years you were both married, photos of trips together or at functions, airline reservations with both your names and anything else you an think of.
