As many of you can see Im filling out papers and I have more than one question...

In regards to form I-693

My wife came to the U.S under a k-1 Visa and she got her medical exam in Chile in November.. Do we need to fill out part 1 of Form I-693 and the just send a copy of her vaccines or what do we need to do?

~Rather than start a new thread with each question, consider collecting your questions and then submit them in one thread. BTW, most people have many questions about the AOS process, it can be daunting.~

(mod hat off)

Here is a very informative recent thread about the I-693: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/428381-i-693-report-of-medical-examination-and-vaccination-report/page-4#entry7527782

Hope that helps,

Good luck on your immigration journey.

In Part 5. Complete Only if applying for re-entry permit

Do I leave it blank?

she has not travel anywhere yet and she is not a resindet so no taxes yet

Adjustment applicants applying for AP do not fill out Part 5 of the I-131. You will skip from the bottom of page 2 to Part 7, as it states there on the form.

You do not send an I-693 yourself. An I-693 must be filled out and signed by a civil surgeon, or do not send one at all.

Hey everyone, last year I earned way below the poverty line and we used a co-sponsor for the K1, now I have a full time job where I earn above the poverty line and I did not want to use the co-sponsor but I am worried that my income was way too low in 2014 and concerned we might get RFE if I use only my income.

Can someone please clarify? I know for the current poverty guidelines for 2 ppl I must earn $19, 912 and I earn above that but I have been at this job since March 25th so obviously 2014 tax won't reflect that...

Since you have been at you current job for only 2 months, they might send you an RFE. There have been plenty of cases like this. Make sure you save every paycheck and have a joint sponsor on standby.

Thank you!

Another question in two parts: 1) Is it true that the I-94 expires in two weeks?

2) there was a separate thread about Advanced Parole and someone mentioned that if we submit AOS paperwork after the expiration of I-94 then technically my fiance will be out of status for a few days and that may result in issues with using the AP when returning into the US.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post in and I know that AP issues have been discussed ad noseum on here. Any pointing in the right direction, even to a different thread will be massively appreciated.

I don't know if the I-94 expires but I think the out of status thing refers to when the K1 expires. Apparently, once you enter the US on the K1, your visa expires right then and there and is replaced by the I-94, which is then valid for 90 days. If you file for AOS and receive the NOA1 before those 90 days are over, then you're never out of status. I don't know how any of that affects your re-entry with AP.

1) The I-94 will be valid for 90 days, which is the amount of time you have to marry once entering the US via the K-1.

2) If you have not yet filed for AOS when the I-94 expires, then you will be out of status. Once you file for AOS, you will be in a new period of authorized stay while your AOS case is pending. If you happen to accrue some overstay time before filing for AOS and AP, that will not matter for using the AP to re-enter the US while waiting for your AOS to be approved.

Hope everyone is doing well. Just doing the AOS docs and we are in a bit of a weird situation. He connected in Abu Dhabi flying in from India so as per his I 94, POE was Abu Dhabi (makes no sense to me but ok). Because there is where they checked all his docs, and took away the immigration docs package. For the AOS docs, do I also put that his POE was Abu Dhabi?

Yes, a bit impatient. July 2nd was right before this holiday weekend. It can take a couple weeks or more(up to 30 days) to receive the receipt.
