Yes this can only be explained as ideology over fairness. the assumption that we don't know what is going on and that we need political one liners and cheap shots from visa journey posters is insulting and condescending. Anyone with an ounce of intellectual honesty know that legal migrants are not a priority in this process for purely political reasons.

I know. It's crazy and so I'm actually shocked that posters here think that GOP is to blame. This is crazy!

Yes. Unfortunately, VJ went to the dark side and openly censors posts that support legal immigration and discourage criminal activity. If they chose to grow a spine they would lose half their revenue. Edited by LibCampFireClub

Not saying fox is wrong I just trust msnbc

You know this article has been making rounds in thread after thread on this site (including ones now locked), I'm surprised they haven't merged them.

But, this article is strangely enough didn't originally surface at Fox, it actually came from the DailyCaller (but I guess they aren't fussed enough to tell readers that). Take that as you will, but I rather hate sloppy journalism. And largely unsourced at that when you read it carefully. It makes a very big statement, but doesn't provide evidence of the statement, and then gives a vague quote from a rep. There's some evidence out there, but they didn't even bother with that.

Anyway if it's any help, some people have been trying to work on pushing the story regarding lengthy wait times we're all facing to other news outlets, including NYT.

This country was built by immigrants. We have no right to keep pepole our of America. It was not an issue until brown white people started coming

Fixed that for you. Brownish people were here a long time before white people.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it here again: There are roughly 200,000 visas issued to immediate family members (read: spouses and minor children) of US citizens plus around 30,000 K1 visas. USCIS processing times for I-130 and I-129F petitions are rather reasonable in the 5-6 month time frame. When I went through the process a little over a decade ago - before Obama's executive action on immigration - the wait for an I-129F or I-130 often was in excess of a year. In fact, the I-130 I filed for my wife took right about 12 months to be adjudicated. So the current wait times would appear to be rather reasonable.

Now, the backlog they speak of are the lower preference categories for which Congress only makes available a limited number of visas each year. That backlog - which has grown an outrageous 2.3% year over year according to the report - has absolutely nothing to do with USCIS or any executive action on immigration. That backlog grows because more family based immigrant visas are applied for than are made available by Congress. It's been that way for decades and it will be that way for decades to come.

Both parties love illegal immigrants and could care less about the rest of us. If they cared, E-Verify would have been mandatory years ago. The Repbilican's like the cheap labor since they're in bed with big business and Obama just does it to irritate people at VJ. The Democrats would like to gain all those illegal votes as much as the GOP would.

hopefully timeframe gets shorter .. happy at least someone spoke about the misery of long waiting time frame.

I-130 Sent : 2014-09-08 I-130 NOA1 : 2014-09-12 I-130 RFE : NONE I-130 RFE Sent : NONE I-130 Approved : 2015-03-06

That's your USCIS timeline. Less than 6 months from filing to adjudication for your I-130. What long wait time are you referring to?

I'm not going to argue that point. You are correct that both political parties work for big business and big business wants cheap labor. The illegals won't be eligible to vote for another decade to decade and a half - if they ever become eligible. Yes, they should make e-verify mandatory and yes, they ought to effectively tax to death any person or business that employs a person not eligible to work here. I agree with all that.

What I don't agree with is this bullshite reporting that suggests that the family based immigration backlog is any worse now than it was in the past - it simply isn't - or that it has anything to do with shifting priorities at USCIS - it doesn't. The backlogs that have popped up in the media recently discuss those that are attributable to limited visa availability and the backlogs in immigration courts. The latter might possibly have some relation to the recent executive action on immigration but it doesn't impact the USCIS' processing of family based visas as is suggested. And the former has absolutely nothing to do with either USCIS or the executive action on immigration.

Unbelievable how even those people that should know better fall for this nonsense reporting.

Hillary needs the Hispanic vote for 2016

Thanks you for your sacrifice.

We need to prioritise illegals at the expense of those going through the legal process to ensure a Democratic victory.
