The temp EAD that she got at JFK is only valid for 90 days fro the date she arrived.... if she starts work she will have to stop working when the 90 days is up.... you need to apply for the 1 year EAD with your AOS or she will not be authorized to work until she gets her greencard....

You need to be concerned about getting married in 90 days of her arrival, not so much her working. Her temporary EAD should allow her to get a social security number which will satisfy the employer. When you get married then you can apply for AOS. Get your steps in order first.

your EAD is given to you when you enter to the states, if not, when you send the AOS make sure you sent the I - 765 so you can get your Employment Authorization Document and then file for your social securty number

Let me try, Kez........

Right now, the ONLY POE we know of who gives a TEMPORARY EAD is JFK. You can apply for your SSN 2 weeks after you arrive in the US. You do not have to wait to apply for the SSN until you are married.... you do not have to wait to apply for the SSN until you file for your EAD (I-765). Not everyone who files for AOS files for an EAD. Some wait until their AOS is approved and they get their green card.

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
