Too tired to search for the post, but yes, the Danish half is going for citizenship next year. Denmark just passed a law allowing dual citizenship starting in September, so it is perfect timing.

My step dad liked a post on facebook about how Denmark is a better country (more socialist) than Canada (EDIT excuse me.. America) (FYI he lives in the most socialist province Canada in BC.) I wanted to tell him, uhm, it's not all sunshine and butterflies.

Denmark is better

Oh and this made me giggle... out loud. Literally.

Forget Rednecks...

Here is what Jeff Foxworthy has to say about Canadians, during a recent appearance at Caesars in Windsor :

If someone in a Home Depot store
Offers you assistance and they don't work there,
You may live in Canada .

If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time,
You may live in Canada .

If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation
With someone who dialed a wrong number,
You may live in Canada .

If 'Vacation' means going anywhere
South of Detroit for the weekend,
You may live in Canada .

If you measure distance in hours,
You may live in Canada .

If you know several people
Who have hit a deer more than once,
You may live in Canada .

If you have switched from 'heat' to 'A/C'
In the same day and back again,
You may live in Canada .

If you can drive 90 km/hr through 2 feet of snow
During a raging blizzard without flinching,
You may live in Canada .

If you install security lights on your house and garage,
But leave both unlocked,
You may live in Canada .

If you carry jumper cables in your car
And your wife knows how to use them,
You may live in Canada .

If you design your kid's Halloween costume
To fit over a snowsuit,
You may live in Canada .

If the speed limit on the highway is 80 km --
You're going 95 and everybody is passing you,
You may live in Canada .

If driving is better in the winter
Because the potholes are filled with snow,
You may live in Canada .

If you know all 4 seasons:
Almost winter, winter, still winter,
and road construction,
You may live in Canada .

If you have more miles
On your snow blower than your car,
You may live in Canada .

If you find -2 degrees 'a little chilly',
You may live in Canada .

If you actually understand these jokes,
and forward them to all
your friends,
you definitely are Canadian and proud to be.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.  - Dr. Seuss

:luv:

I never locked my doors

We used to go ice fishing and take off our coats when the sun came out after all it was only -22, it was a nice day

I never had a/c but left the heat on all summer, figure if it was cold enough to turn on then it needed to be on.

I'm guilty of talking to completely strangers on the phone, I even called a random # in hopes that it would be the guy that someone told me about that had birds.

Shorts running shoes or heck sandals with a winter coat. Halloween yup did that every year. It was so weird here not having to find a costume to go over a snowsuit.

Driving in the snow in a blizzard  you should of saw the hillbilly drive with a bit of snow. I had to tell him to speed up before we get hit.

LOL AH, being Canadian and knowing ALL these things!!!

Hubs was always SUPER nervous about driving in snow. Still is. I'm like, foot of snow? NBD! Just need good tires!

Granted, I've completely smashed a wheel once because I slid into the metal grate at the edge of the sidewalk. I accidentally put my car in neutral when I put both hands on the wheel (I have always had a tendency to keep one hand on the shifter if it's not on the steering column because I learned to drive with a manual.) Thankfully I had a matching spare and there was no major damage. But that was an ice issue, not a snow issue really. I've slid off the road twice as well, but only had to be hauled out once. I think better tires or a few people could have pushed me back into grip that time as well as it was barely off the road.

When you grow up in the land of snow and ice and that's the worst that's happened, that's pretty good IMHO.
