Me first!!

Darnell. You like to work at being social but others don't want to be social except for maybe a few very close friends or certain activities. It's okay to be introverted and not want to socialize. Just like it's okay to extroverted and socialize easily. I had to learn to do it as a kid and it's easy for me to become introverted should I find a good book or singular activity... I have zero issues with going to a movie or out to eat on my own, but I enjoy company none-the-less and find myself just fine in a busy environment. I can work retail without issues (beyond the occasional desire to swat people in the back of the head with a 2x4... :content: )

I think if you're more true to WHO you are, and comfortable with that person, you're more likely to stay with someone who is equally so. If you have to try so hard to be a certain way and always have had to, maybe it's just not who you are and something in the thinking pattern should change.

While I may not like parts of who I am, it is who I am and I accept that. Somethings you can change, and others you're just pretending and that will bite you in the butt more often than not. My husband knows exactly who he is. While I think he should try to expand that occasionally (it's good to grow) I'm not about to change him and nor do I want to. We're just different enough to balance each other.

It's funny because in our relationship, when it started, we noticed all the similarities. Now we notice all the differences because the similarities are just common day things.

i dunno, I made a lot o money being social. i don't like being social. i like money. i was lucky, able to stop working like a dog before age 50. so, i have skills at being social. i don't like doing it, it's not who I am. Since I like money, apparently (by your posit) I'm not being true to myself. I don't care about that. I care about money. OK ? OK !

and I do like forming krewes, fwiw.

Well since you can retire.. why not find someone to retire with... but you can only do that by being true to you, whomever that you is.

I probably should care more about money. It sucks when yer broke. But I don't.... I've been happy being poor.

It's easy to be social when you are putting on a front.

One thing I really learned in relationships is that do whatever you would normally do from the start. I f-ing HATE when guys are all gooshy and sweet to start and then back off as they get feelings or feel yer hooked or whatever... I've had a lot of short relationships because of that. Be who you are. Always. :)

I'll marry just this once. That's it.

eh - i don't know the backstory at all, but I'm gleaning that no amount of PMs from you to her will change the situation. If/when there's a noticeable behavior change from/on you, (again IMO) then I also glean she'll participate again.
