i figured it out, in the end.

back in the olden days o yore, this was labelled (from the Grainger Catalog)

a relay termination point.

Contactor, you say? OK - I'm in ! all these new fangled words confuse me, and that's ok.

Still, I think it's something with a geographic focus, ie - I've not seen the word used in that fashion here in Tejas.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).
