05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Monday half-report, eyes half open man:

So tired last night that forgot to add "Cat prep zzz man," zzz man.

So tired last night that forgot to make first Many lunches for week, zzz man.

Made same this morn, rush man.

Had terrible night, sigh man.

Mini-B. raised ruckus about sleeping alone, determined wee man.

Then we awoke coughing violently at Many a.m., phlegmatic man.

Then alarm went off too soon, evil creation of the Devil man.

Sleep-lack precluded intended effect of Heap Strong back-medicine, ache man.

Mrs. T-B. even noticed this and promised us a nap this eve, she surprise man.

Mini-B. refused to kiss us this morn, obstinate wee man:

"Daddy, I saw you get up. You have to sleep by yourself ALL NIGHT, so no kiss."

Awful morning commute, red lights & turtles man.

Demanding pre-owned toilet seat customers, grrr man.

Must service them regardless, wonderful world of retail man.

It's like that with fishing too. I have the worst of luck with phone calls, the phone never rings until I put the boat in gear, the second I get underway, the phone starts ringing. Or the second I start fishing.....
