I sent a 129F on February 10th through certified mail to Chicago and according to the tracking information its still not delivered. On the status page it only says it was accepted at the local post office were i sent it from. I called the local post office and the 800 number for USPS and they told me it was supposed to be delivered on 13th and they have no other information.

The question i have is how long should i wait for USPS to deliver the item before i send the copy i made of the 129F package? Also how long does it generally take for certified mail to be delivered and does it make any difference that the mail is going to a PO Box?

Any help is appreciated.

Did you just ask for delivery confirmation or signed return receipt?

YMMV

Where do you live? if you filed your 129-F that means you filed for K1 right?? As far as I know your application should have gone to one of the service centres, Calif, Vermont, Texas or Nebraska.. It could be that its in the wrong place or on its way back to you??

Hopefully someone can shed some light.

I-129Fs are filed for K3 as well and sent to the Chicago lockbox where they forward to the National Benefits Centre in Missouri and then onto either CSC or VSC.

To the OP: Mine only took a day to get there from VA. We didn't send it "certified", just next day and with some sort of delivery confirmation requested.

The 129F was filed for K3 Visa. I have already filed 130 on February 1st and received a NOA1 notice on February 9th. I sent the 129F package through certified mail with signature confirmation same way i sent the 130 package which was delivered within 3 days.

When i spoke to one of the rep on the phone from USPS she told me since it was going to a PO Box and it was a signature confirmation mail the status of the delivery will not be updated until the package was picked up and signed for from the post office in Chicago.

I am confused as to what i should do. If the mail is lost then thats fine i can send another one but if the first package is delivered after i send the second package i am worried it might delay the processing since i would have 2 petitions. Any suggestions to what i should do or how long i should wait because the post office is not being helpful at all. All they keep telling me that it can takes up to 14 days even though it was sent through first class which takes 2-3 days. Also they have no idea where the mail is all they know is that that it was accepted at my local post offer on the 10th and it was supposed to be delivered on the 13th. I thought with certified mail i would be able to track the package since it had a tracking number but apparently not.

It took 6 days for them to produce a NOA1 for my I-129F and a few days after to receive it in the mail. Wait a few more days to see if they cash the cheque.

I'm not worried about the NOA1 notice right now because according to the tracking information the package hasn't even been delivered yet. I am just trying to make sure they received it because according to my local post office the package was supposed to be delivered on the 13th but it still hasn't been delivered yet and they have no idea why.
