Hi guys, sorry if I'm in the wrong place. I am stressing about visiting my fiance is California during our wait for our visa. I still live with my parents (no lease or mortgage) and I was only filling a leave at my job which ends in June (which is why I figured it was the perfect time to visit) so I don't have a lot of "ties" or "proof" to return. (Of course I am!) My car is currently paid for as well so I only have insurance payments. I was just wondering if any of you have any tips at all. I know it just depends on the situation/worker you get at customs. I am planning to visit at the end of June for a couple of months. I have previously visited in the month of January for two months, but that was before we filed our petition.

Again, apologies if I am in the wrong place! I just couldn't find a thread about not having many "ties" to Canada.

You have excellent proof - you have your NOA from filing your K1 - that is great proof that you are doing this the right way! Some folks have brought along copies of their NOA's and the entire package of info they filed as proof. It make take a little calm explanation if the border guard asks, but its worth it if it allows you to enter, right?

Just be honest with whatever they ask and don't provide more info unless they ask...but be prepared. You can honestly indicate you don't have a lease since you live with your parents if they ask.

NVC... DONE  in 116 days from NOA2 to final CC

Final Steps... DONE in 350 days from NOA1 to POE

07-11-2017 NOA1 date (rec'd on 14th)

08-03-2017 Daughter and I completed biometrics; May 2018 - I had to redo my biometrics (reason unknown)

WAC17283xxxxx....and we wait...400 days

07-13-2018 I-551 extension stamp (12 mths) obtained at USCIS office in Detroit

09-20-2018 Transferred to TSC

10-15-2018 Text notification "New Card Being Produced"   YAY!!
