Congrats!!!! :-) happy for you guys!!

Approved!!

We had a bit of trouble I would say... First we had an issue with the supporting documents for the I-134 of course, they asked for proof that our co sponsor was a resident and of course he did not send us that even though I asked him to :/ so there was an issue there but it got worked out.

Total the interview was about an hour long. They questioned him about our relationship for about half an hour then sent him outside with a pass to bring me in because his CO wanted to question me too. She sent him to sit down and questioned me for about half an hour... He messed up a bit on the timeline the first round of questions so this raised a flag for her I think.

Anyways it was all worth it in the end!

The interview was about 10 min they only asked me three questions, what was my fiancée' name how we met and how long we had been together what took a long time was that the girl was typing a lot on the computer, then she finally said congrats your visa has been approved, yei! I'm just waiting for the visa to arrive :-/ I just want to be with my fiancé already lol :-)

So after almost two weeks of attempting to schedule an interview with the U.S. Embassy in Ankara...we finally have it set for Oct. 6! It's obviously later than we wanted but 50 or so days seems like a breeze compared to what we're use to. :joy:

Quick question for anyone that might know this— our I-129F petition expires Oct. 11. Do we need to seek an extension? I'm not entirely sure what that expiration date means exactly, so any feedback would be appreciated. Planning to contact USCIS to get more clarification.

hi! we were told we need to request an extension. we are US/Australia and the sydney consulate said YES we need to ask for an extension.. (our approval ends 10/25 and our interview is 10/27) so we were told the US petitioner needs to write a letter requesting the approval be extended and state that you are both still free and willing to marry within the 90 days. then we had to scan it and send it back to them.

so it is better to ask your consulate just to be safe!

EDIT: Sorry I read your dates wrong! it is only important to extend your petition if your interview is AFTER the expiration date. goodluck!

Hi everyone!

so what exactly is packet 4?? when will we get it and is it hardcopy or email? what will it say? when do you receive the "how ready are you?" paper?? (does anyone know what I am talking about? ha!)

also, do you have to submit everything all at once or is it ok to submit things as you go? can anyone discuss how theyre going about it...thanks!

It all depends on the consulate if they issue a packet 4 or not. Some do, others don't. Same thing with the "how ready are you" paper which could be also considered packet 3. Mine was sent via email which instructed me on what paperwork I will need to have available for our interview and to complete the DS-160 online. Some embassies also might want a reply letting them know that you are ready and to begin setting up an interview date.

Our packet 4 was a letter sent to the foreign address with our interview date, a list of documents that we will need bring and instructions on where to go for the medical exam.

Unless specifically asked per your embassy all these items need to be presented at your interview.

Here is an update on our interview:

My fiance went in for his interview and they questioned him so much on how we met. We met on facebook, and they questioned so much about that.

They looked at some of his documents, but just kept questioning everything about facebook and how I got the money to go see him.

Then after everything, they handed him back his passport and gave him a white slip and the white slip told him to go back to the interview at 2pm.

That is in 2 hours.

I am really hoping he gets approved. I don't know what I'm going to do if he doesn't...... We are going to have a baby in December and I really need him here..
