my fiancé had his interview today and got approved!

he had to wait three hours, but the actual interview was straightforward. they asked how we met originally and in person, what we do for work, and if we have a wedding date set and how many people are attending. also who proposed hahah.

i'm not going to be totally at ease until we get across the border with his car but this is still a really good feeling.

Congrats!

Alright, so my fiance went to her medical today, we assumed she would need a sputum test, since she tried going to Taiwan many years ago but was denied because of the scar in her lungs. Well, miraculously, they saw the scar, but my fiance brought all of her medical records in proving she has never had TB, and one of the doctors knew the doctor who checked my fiance in July... So she made an edit in the computer cancelling the sputum test... how lucky we are!!! However, my fiance did cut her wrist in her teenage years and needs to see a psychiatrist two days after our interview date... so we will have it rescheduled..... which is fine by me, since I assumed I'd have to wait longer. I'm very happy now.

My original interview date was 8-26, but now I'm expecting it to be sometime in Sept. Good luck everyone!

Sent I129f - April 28, 2015

Received I129f - May 1, 2015

NOA1 - May 5, 2015 (Email on 6, Harcopy on 9)

NOA2 - July 9 (Email and text)

NOA2 Hardcopy - July 13

NVC Case # Assigned - July 30

Consulate Received - Aug. 3

Medical - Aug. 12 (We passed! Well, almost. She needs to see a psychiatrist on the 28th, which shouldn't be a big issue. She cut her wrist long ago in her teenage years.)

Interview - ??? (Originally Aug. 26, but since she is now required to see a psychiatrist on the 28th, it will be rescheduled, probably sometime in Sept.)

Today was Biometrics for us... All went well but now I'm dealing with a major co sponsor problem...

They don't want to/ say they can't send us anymore documents than I have... All I have is the i-134, 3 pay stubs and 2 w-2 forms... The interview is tomorrow. I'm really stressing out now.

So after almost two weeks of attempting to schedule an interview with the U.S. Embassy in Ankara...we finally have it set for Oct. 6! It's obviously later than we wanted but 50 or so days seems like a breeze compared to what we're use to. :joy:

Quick question for anyone that might know this— our I-129F petition expires Oct. 11. Do we need to seek an extension? I'm not entirely sure what that expiration date means exactly, so any feedback would be appreciated. Planning to contact USCIS to get more clarification.

congrats! no, you don't need an extension. the expiration just means that the interview/medical exam must take place before that date. you would have only needed an extension if your interview was scheduled for after that date. good luck!

i'm sorry to hear that. unfortunately, all you can do is bring what you have. i think the worst case scenario would be that they might put you in AP (basically pend your application) and request more information if they need it. at that point, you can contact your co-sponsor and let them know you really need it. maybe that will give them the push to provide you with more stuff. but hopefully you won't even need it. best of luck. let us all know how it goes

Approved!!

We had a bit of trouble I would say... First we had an issue with the supporting documents for the I-134 of course, they asked for proof that our co sponsor was a resident and of course he did not send us that even though I asked him to :/ so there was an issue there but it got worked out.

Total the interview was about an hour long. They questioned him about our relationship for about half an hour then sent him outside with a pass to bring me in because his CO wanted to question me too. She sent him to sit down and questioned me for about half an hour... He messed up a bit on the timeline the first round of questions so this raised a flag for her I think.

Anyways it was all worth it in the end!

So today we got an email the embassy letting us know that my finance's interview is scheduled for next Wednesday. Thankfully we are prepared. My fiancé never got a package. If it weren't for VJ I wouldn't even know what wee needed for the interview. Everything is happening so fast. Yay
