The NVC schedules appointments for CR/IR visas - and that's why the message is there. You can schedule all your own stuff with K-1 (I think you can schedule it with CR-1 as well, it's just that the NVC reserves a place for you, or gives you your "appointment range". Not sure).

Not all embassies allow you to schedule your own interview. The VJ info page for Dublin says the embassy schedules the interview for them.

Day 1 of the interview journey for us.

Just got to juarez this morning and I've been waiting for my fiancé to get done with his medical exam for about an hour now...

Not going to lie this wait is killing me already I can only imagine how it will be Thursday at the actual interview >_<

So, despite our many many e-mails saying that we cannot make the interview on August 11th, the embassy ignored us and considered our interview missed. They re-scheduled us for September 3rd. That makes 150 days from NOA2 to interview. Not ideal, but I'm going to France today anyway, so at least we can deal with the suspense together.

I had my Medical yesterday and the appoinment was at 10 And i was done almost at 3 :-/ good luck with the rest of the journey

It ended up taking 3 hours... Wow 10-3 that's horrible!

The woman who scheduled the medical gAve me an hour estimate so the 3 hour wait absolutely tortured me but he finally got out... Glad it wasn't no 10-3 though O_O

Oh well.. One step at a time :)

my fiancé had his interview today and got approved!
he had to wait three hours, but the actual interview was straightforward. they asked how we met originally and in person, what we do for work, and if we have a wedding date set and how many people are attending. also who proposed hahah.

i'm not going to be totally at ease until we get across the border with his car but this is still a really good feeling.
