yeah it's hard to know for sure lol i was told buy NVC that my package was shipped on 7/2 but it was actually shipped 6/30 (i know because it was received by the embassy on 7/6 and there wasn't even a DHL tracking set up for 7/2 lol!) so there's also a possibility that your date could be off by a couple days. please keep us posted!!

I will thank you!

I hope this isn't too off topic but do you or anyone else know why I'm receiving an error message each time I attempt to create an account on U.S. travel docs? Thanks

as someone said earlier, make sure you embassy issues a packet 3. if so...then no i dont think 8 days is too long to wait. did you already check the CEAC website? Does it say ready?

from the day ours changed to ready...it took like 14 days for my fiance to get the "packet 3" email from the embassy in brazil (brazil doesn't really have a packet 3...just a confirmation email giving us the ok to schedule the interview). i would give it at least 2 weeks. if nothing, then you can email them.

Thanks Shellymarie! Do u know if 8 days is too long to be waiting for my packet 3 to get to my fiancée? If so, what can I do?

Holy #######... was recieved by the consulate today, we went through all the electronic forms (DS-160) and signed up at usvisa-info.com, and we found one lone interview slot for August 20th. The next open one was September 8th.

Since I (Mark) had a ticket already for August 21st, we were panicking about whether we should wait until the 8th, or take the chance and risk high airline change fees. We took that risk.. since we didn't want someone to come and take our interview slot. We ended calling the airline, and they changed my reservation to the 13th, costing only $75 and gave me a much better flight (old one was almost 20hr total travel time and had three layovers, the new one is about 13 hours and only has two layovers).

She just scheduled a medical for this Thursday. So much stress, went through almost an entire cigarette pack since last night (it usually takes me about 3 days to go through one).

Gracias a Dios

Now I'm freaking out because after reading a bit, I see that we're not supposed to schedule the interview/medical until after we receive 'packet 3'.

I'm not sure how we can actually get 'packet 3' considering they only email packet 3, and I'm not sure who has my email... I've not received anything via email from USCIS or NVC, despite CEAC saying ready since yesterday (it was "in-transit" over the weekend). Some consulates don't care and some will turn you away without proof of an 'invitation letter'. It's unclear what Guayaquil does, but it seems some people didn't have to wait for packet 3. Maybe they'll send an email today/tomorrow..

Kim&Jules - we have the same interview date too!

Jane just got through to the guayaquil consulate and they said they have our case and even recognized our appointment date. It was a spanish speaking lady (she says it was either an Ecuadorian or an American with perfect spanish) and she said she can proceed with the interview as planned.

gotcha. did you try doing the DHL tracking trick to see if your package that was sent out on the 21st arrived at the embassy? I'm on my phone right now but if you're on a computer and if you go back to page like 27 or 28 (i think)...someone gave instructions I how to track the package from NVC to embassy. if your package arrived and was signed for then i wouldn't worry. sometimes it takes them A WHILE to route the package to the right department. so while they tell you they haven't received it, it might just mean they haven't received/opened it in the right department yet.

I'm sorry! i can only imagine how stressful it must be! but I'm sure everything is fine!

well after all that panic my case has been received today!!! thanks for everything
