hello! i can't say for your embassy. every embassy has different procedures. for brazil, i didnt have to do anything for "packet 3." brazil is using the new online system for scheduling interviews, so yes, i will be able to pick the date and time myself. but some embassys are still following the old system, where they schedule the interview for you

good luck!

Just a quick question. Does this mean that you're able to actually CHOOSE an interview date @ the embassy?

I got my pack 3 2 weeks ago and in there it says that you have to hand back some stuff (DS-230, DS-160,...) & only after you send back the checklist they are able to provide you with one.

Therefore i'm just keeping myself from sending allthis because I need a date after 28th of september...

Thank you! I was just able to make the payment, no problem! nowwwwwww i just have to wait for my fiance to WAKE UP so we can pick a date! hehe :)

wooooohooooooooo congrats! that makes me so happy to hear that! now you can just enjoy your time together and not have to stress about this!! let us know how it goes! its so close!! :)

Hi Mark! Shouldn't be a problem as long as you can make international charges with your card. (I'm the USC) and I was just able to make the payment a few minutes ago using my paypal debit card. When i called they said it doesn't matter who makes the payment, or who's name is on the card. does aileen's embassy use the new online scheduling system? if so, then that should be fine. hope all is well!

Her embassy uses the online system but it has to be in pesos only. My card deals in dollars. Does the card automatically convert it to pesos?

Hi all,

No real updates here but congrats to all of those who are Finally reaching the final few steps! I know I can speak for all of us when I say this has been a stressful process.

We are no immigration lawyers so congrats to those who have been able to get through the process successfully on their own...

1 week and 2 days to go for me and my fiancé to jump on a bus and head up to the Juarez embassy. I'm now about to be 7 months pregnant and my stress level is at a max with all of that and this so I'm so ready to take him to the states with me and hopefully we can be together for the birth of our baby. Plus In the past half year I've only seen my immediate family 1 month out of all of that... It's been 3 months now since I last saw them and these pregnancy hormones have me on emotional wreck status about that, I love my grandma and my fiances family but I'm so ready to go home. I need taco bell, red robin and my moms lasagna. We are currently waiting for some family members to come from the states with the I-134, supporting documents, and copies of the I-129f/ NOA's etc that I left at home in Washington... That's pretty much all that's left so we can be completely organized paper wise. Fingers are very very crossed!

I personally never imagined filing for anything like this for anyone at 22 years old or ever! When I met my fiancé over 5 years ago I was on vacation visiting family in Mexico.. he was about 14 years old and trying to convince me that it wouldn't hurt to give him a kiss because my at the time boyfriend was in the United states and "wouldn't ever find out about it" his efforts didn't work out for him that year hahaha... Oh life :)

Sorry for the rambling, I'm down to the last steps and it's really bringing out some deep thoughts, I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this haha. good luck everyone!

oh ok. mine card did the conversion! when you register for the online site, it tells you it'll cost $265 american dollars, or in my case 848 BRL. and my card was actually only charged $253 american dollars. as long as your card can be used internationally, i think it should do the conversion for you. i used this card the entire time i was in brazil and it did everything for me. there might be a small charge for the conversion depending on your card. but i was not charged anything.

let me know how it goes!

Well I finally heard back from the embassy this morning and they scheduled our interview for August 20th!! It's very exciting but more than that I feel so much relief to finally have a set date to see my fiancé and finish this next to last step(the final step is having the visa in hand haha)!! I'm so happy to see that everyone's timelines are progressing!! I am praying for you all and I know we will all be with our loved ones before you know it!! God is good!!

Hi Everyone,

My fiancé (Phil, UK citizen) and I were early April filers (april 4th was our reciept date)! Today was his interview at the London embassy, and I just got a call from him telling me that it went well and that they approved his K-1 visa! We are so excited-it's been a stressful road (though not as long as we expected, 4 months start to finish so we're grateful) and Visa Journey has helped us a lot because we can search the forums and read what others have done, what works/what doesn't. Just so excited and wanted to share with all of you who are going through the process! Good luck to all!!

Well, it's been 32 days since our NOA2 (June 29th), and we still don't have the NVC case number yet. I called again this morning, and they give me the usual "it takes at least 35 days for our system to be updated with your case information... blah, blah, blah." Should I be worried? Is there anything else I can do?

Wow, that sucks. I guess this is something to look forward to, since come Monday, it will be 35 days and you can ask them why it's taking so long.

I was kinda hoping they were speeding things up for those of us April filers that got their NOA2s rather late. Apparently not :(

Our NVC case just changed to "In Transit". Guayaquil, here I come (well, I'll be coming there in three weeks.. hope I didn't schedule my flight too late :( )

that's why I paid ir by cash lol

good morning everyone!

just an FYI...for those of you who will be scheduling your interviews online using the new scheduling system...if you'll be paying using a credit or debit card...make sure your card allows you to make international charges. i just went online to pay/schedule and it declined it because of that. so now i had to transfer money to my pay-pal debit card which takes 24 hours...so hopefully (if nothing else goes wrong lol) i'll be scheduling the interview tomorrow.

have a good day all!!

Congratulations Nolee!

We are home! I spent the last 2 1/2 weeks in Portugal with my hunny and his family. We arrived back in the states together on Tuesday evening. Our point of entry was in Newark, NJ. I was able to bring him through the US citizens line with me and not through the visitors line! Both lines were long but moved somewhat quickly. They checked us both in together at the same time but they needed to bring him to a separate room to hand over his sealed envelope. After a short wait he returned to me. They didn't ask him any questions at all, just told him that he has 90 days to get married and sent him on his way.

What a huge relief! The hard part is over now! Mission accomplished!

Congrats Shellymarie! I'm hoping to get an appointment date as a birthday present on monday! (fingers crossed)
