APRIL FILERS AFTER NOA2 - NVC (CSC)

From the timelines that I have seen, it usually just takes about a week top before they process them and send them off. I spoke to an NVC official and she stated that once they receive the case, they simply apply a case number and ship it off to the embassy. She said it's not long at all for K1's before they are out the door again. I hope this helps but you will be fine, at the very least you now know that your file is at the NVC and not between USCIS and NVC limbo lol.

Haha! So true, I think if I'd have to wait past the 30 day mark for my case to be received I would have a panic attack that it was lost somewhere along the way. Here's hoping I get a case number in the next couple of days!

no problem! like kim&jules said...at least your one step closer! and not worrying about it getting lost in the mail between USCIS and NVC LOL! thanks! i actually emailed the embassy on a few questions and they were like "blah blah blah we've only received the electronic version of your file, it's not actually here yet. once it is, we'll email you!" i was like whaaaaaaaaat?? i didn't even know that was a thing! lol i thought my file was actually there in house already! just one more thing for me to be nervous about LOL! let us know when you get it!

Oh, that's reassuring! Thanks for the heads up, I'll try again this evening when I get home and see if there's a case number assigned. I've been following your timeline, just because we had NOA2s around the same time, and I see you're case is at the embassy-- so exciting!! Can't wait to be that far along after all this pesky NVC business!

Hey guys I have a question regarding the package 3.

If the instructions state:

- Birth certificate (original and one copy): does that mean the the copy has to be certified?? Or just a regular copy??

Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I'm really bad at posting but just want to say that all the info you guys have put in here has helped me a lot so, so I'm just waiting for my interview that will be on August 12, so a little bit about my case I got my NOA 2 on June 9, the NVC received the case on July 6 and I was assigned the number on July 7 so for me it took almost the month after the approval as soon as I got the case number I did scheduled my appointment since I'm having my interview in Jusrez it's says you don't need to wait for package 3 to schedule and I'm glad I did, because I still have to wait another month for the interview I was hoping it could be faster, but I'll keep checking everyday and hopefully find something sooner, I just want to say we are almost there and it has been an interesting process, wishing everyone good luck, and hoping it keeps moving along fast

Correct me if I'm wrong but is your divorce decree need to be a certified copy? i'm not going to send my original.

you're correct. i wasn't referring to anything like that. just things where they tell you to bring a simple copy...a lot of people think they have to be notarized but they don't. but yeah for things like divorce our adoption papers, either the original or certified copy is required. sorry for any confusion

yep! it sucks!! i guess they figure it's better to over estimate the number of days it'll take, instead of getting everyone's hopes up by telling them anything less than 35 days. but i would say about 3 weeks is the average wait time for processing. mine was received and given a case number in 16 days. and...it seems as though they work on the applications on saturdays! because mine was given a case number on 6/27. so hopefully you'll have it soon! good luck! :)

You would think the NVC would invest in an online system where petitioners could enter their US CIS case number, and have it automatically search for the NVC number. It would be simple to set up, and save operators having to answer hundreds (probably thousands) of calls every day!
