Just got off the phone with the nvc and they told me they had not received my case yet. She told me that I should give it 30-35 days and to call back on or after July 22nd. I received my NOA2 on June 15, 2015 :(

Don't be discouraged. The "Call back in 35 days" is their standard response. They told me the same thing, I called the next day and they told me they received our I-129F.

If you are willing to suffer through repeated dialing attempts to get through and long hold times, there is no harm in calling as often as you like. Most likely you will get a different customer service rep each time you call, and they don't keep any record of your calls. I would expect you will be in the NVC system this week, and shipped to the embassy shortly after.

Just wondering...has anyone done the DS160 for their foreign fiance? (Meaning...the entire thing, including the "submit" part). Only asking because it's difficult for my fiance to get to a printer to be able to print the barcode page, so i was going to do it for him. But then I read that the instructions say that the fiance must be the one to submit it. Just wondering if anyone has done it without any problems. Thanks!

I'm not positive, but I think there is a risk in you completing and submitting the DS-160 for your fiancé. I read someplace once that the embassy can see the IP address of the person who creates, edits and submits the form. If this is true (and I'm not sure that it is true) and you submit the form when the instructions clearly say the fiancé must submit it, you may have problems. It's not a risk that I would take.

Thanks! yeah that's what figured...but I'm so impatient LOL! but you're right, it's def not worth the risk!

just to clarify...when you say "completing and submitting" ...i did fill out some of the parts for him (nothing has been submitted), because this whole process scares him and he doesn't want to do anything wrong lol. do you think (i know none of us can say for sure) that's ok? or do we need to redo the application and have it all be done from brazil? OR-do you think my name should be in the spot where it asks if anyone helped fill out the application? (or is that only for lawyers and stuff?) Thanks for your help!

I think there is a question on the DS-160 asking if anyone assisted in filling out the form. I think as long as you answer yes to this question and list your name you are OK.

I am in IT and know a thing or two about these things :) You should be just fine, the only part I would avoid is clicking the submit button, I would let your fiancé do that part but the rest should be just fine filling it out yourself. You should also put your name letting them know you helped out, that should be an issue at all. Curios, do you plan to the interview?

I was still left slightly confused about the whole ds-160/260 thing but I found some packet 3 instructions for my embassy (juarez) and all I saw listed was ds-160 which is really confusing to me since 160 is for non immigrant visas yet We had to schedule the appointment under the immigrant visa section on the next website.

ANYWAYS, I haven't recieved packet 3 yet but since I'm in a bit of a hurry because of my pregnancy we decided to fill out ds-160 yesterday, make the $265 payment and schedule the interviews. ASC is August 12th and interview is August 13th, thinking of doing medical on the 11th. Very excited to finally have all that done ?

Now to organize and gather all the paperwork my fiance will need for the interview!

We need to fill the DC160 for K1, it's under immigrant in NVC, but it's a non immigrant visa. That's what NVC told me the first time I called to the non immigrant phone number.

Hi all!

Just wondering if you guys could help us with the I-134 form especially question 7.

We're filling in the employment and we have his salary and letter for employer.

Regarding the other lines: 1) Do we need to fill in all of them? I'm guessing better to be accurate and fill more than less?

2) for deposits: Do they want just savings account, checking accounts or just a summary of all the balances including credit card balances?

3) personal property: how do we calculate that?

4) Stocks and bonds? Is that the 401K (the retirement fund)? We don't think so but just wanted to check?

5) Life insurance- we have life insurance but it doesn't have any cash surrender value. What should we put for this?

6) Real estate. Value of estate: is that the current market value and is it ok to use a web calculator such as zillow.com or chase bank to get the market value?

Thanks for all your help!

Hello! not to be personal or anything...but, does the petitioner meet the income required (i believe 125% of poverty level) to support both people? if so, then you don't even have to fill out any of that extra stuff. those lines are basically only for people who don't meet the income requirements, and have to prove that they have money in assets etc as means of support. hope this helps! :)
