I Cannot Believe What My Ears Heard, Today!!!

I can't believe I'm jumping into this discussion but I've had enough of the Foxnews bashing and ever increasing insults being used to describe conservative leaning voters. Really, it gets so old and it is offensive. Where do any of you get off claiming moral superiority over people with different political beliefs?

No matter what side of the political aisle you reside, everyone should be extremely worried when one political party attempts to delegitimize a major news organization in the United States, especially when that news organization appears to be the only mainstream media outlet that doesn't act as a political propaganda arm of the current administration. Of course, that is why liberals attack Foxnews so aggressively with their bitter insults and hatred.

Dont come on here and whimper about someone being called an illegal alien, when that person is clearly and absolutely 100% illegally present in the U.S. and then insult, name call, and bash people who dont have the same political beliefs as you. Liberals expect everyone to be tolerant and absolutely accepting of every lifestyle and belief, except Americans who lean toward being politically conservative and religious. How about we accept and have tolerance for EVERY lifestyle and belief system, not just the ones you agree with or promote? People tend to out themselves as completely intolerant and hypocritical, when they attempt to silence opposing views, under the guise of their own twisted version of intolerant tolerance. Stop stereotyping and insulting people who don't agree with the liberal belief system.

MODS Can we start deleting, warning, and banning forum members who continually insult and denigrate other members because of their political beliefs?

News flash: FOX News is not news. It's entertainment.

None other than Bill O'Reilly said so.

It's simply one more reason why it's called FAUX News.

The scary thing is that the uninformed actually think it's news.

Come on ! Stop with the Obama phone lie for Pete's sake.

This is what happens when you watch too much Fox, you can't tell truth from fiction.

You don't bother to do your own research.

It started under the Bush administration and was funded through the Universal Service Fund, which is administered by an independent, not-for-profit corporation set up by the Federal Communications Commission. The USF is sustained by contributions from telecommunications companies, long distance companies, local telephone companies, wireless telephone companies, paging companies, and payphone providers.

http://www.factcheck.org/2009/10/the-obama-phone/

As to the core of your point, the undocumented issue and DACA, Obama is not the first President to try to keep families together that are

documented with undocumented family members. Big whopping deal ! I waited 5 years for my now spouse and we were treated unfairly with

this immigration system but I will always remain in favor of DACA. The problem is that the service centers aren't operating with common sense

and change needs to happen but I will not make undocumented kids and teenagers the scape goats.

Congress isn't putting anything on the table so Obama came up with his own version. If the GOP would stop bitching and start

coming up with bills instead of fear mongering political theater played out in the media then we would all be better off.

By the way it's a lot about romancing the voters and no party really gives a hoot about the true issues because they aren't

political "talking points" that get them votes.

http://www.factcheck.org/2014/11/obamas-actions-same-as-past-presidents/

The last thing we need is a Republican in the White House.

Yeah, we know the Obamaphone thing is bs. But... Where do you draw the line. If the DACA (and maybe DAPA) people stay under this quasi-legal status they become more integrated (at least economically, if not culturally.) Then at the end of the 3 year DACA period what happens? An extension? Does this go on forever? Or does some future congress pass yes another amnesty program? You can defend DACA all you want but you offer no solution to the problem. We cannot be expected to accept all, or even a fraction, of the world's poor. At some point either we give up and allow the country to become another Mexico or Brazil or we actually enforce the law and require people to use the proper procedures for immigrating to this country.

1. Undocumented/illegal immigrants would not be here if they could not find work. One does not need to build a wall to "keep people out". There is a much, much, much more affordable way to keep them away: fine the hell out of any employer who hires them. Perhaps make it even make it a felony to hire illegal/undocumented residents. I'm not proposing such a policy, but it would be more effective than any wall. Those doing the hiring aren't nearly as desperate as undocumented residents, and consequently are more likely to be risk adverse. Right now there is no punishment for someone that hires an undocumented worker.

In other words, those of you angered by those living here illegally might want to direct your anger towards to those that provide incentives for them to be here.

2. Here is an 18 page paper on how bad Fox News is:

http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2604679

3. Blaming Obama for illegal immigration- LOL. Politicians of all colors just spit out whatever BS they think will win them votes.

The writer is not a Democrat and worked for two Republican presidents. It has some interesting facts such as this:

People who watch Fox News, the most popular of the 24-hour cable news networks, are 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their government than those who watch no news at all (after controlling for other news sources, partisanship, education and other demographic factors). Fox News watchers are also 6-points less likely to know that Syrians have not yet overthrown their government than those who watch no news.

I usually don't comment on threads like these but this thread is a reminder of how entitled we feel in this country. Every single "rights" we ( immigrants, and native) get is actually not a right, it is a privilege! Administration (s) do not owe us a thing! They don't have to grant our loved one a status because we chose to get married to someone from a foreign country and want to bring them here. It is a privilege! It's not like there is a scarcity of people to get married to inland!

Secondly, having had family members and plenty of friends and relative that came here through different administration, one will be foolish to blame any of these issues on a specific administration, and/or political party/ President! As said repetitively here, they will say and do anything to get re-elected. If they really wanted illegal immigration to end it would have been done eons ago. They don't because it cost them too much either financially, politically etc...Let's not be naive! We are talking about a country that has the ability to build a wall comparable to the Berlin wall if they want to! ( They've always had that ability, didn't start 8 or 16 years ago). It is obvious that there is some political and/or economical gain in this immigration game, and once they get up there in that chair, they realize it.

Sometimes i visualize the outgoing president with a smirk when the incoming make promises about how they will do this and that about some of these big issues ( immigration, health, offshore jobs ...) and they just think to themselves: " lets just wait and see what you will do when you get up here, you just don't know what exactly is at stake yet"

Until we get some congress and president ( and real news outlets, not cable news, because they need viewers and ratings), that care more about real issues than politics, let's keep playing by the rules, hope for the best, do our research in such away that if given the opportunity to influence a sensical change, we will be in a position to do with open minds. But of course that too is wishful thinking on my end

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; you works are wonderful, I know that full well"~Ps 139: 14

You think the Republicans are going to change things?

They don't like immigrants at all. There isn't votes in helping engaged people bring in their foreign partners. The situation was as bad in the past under Republicans as Democrats and that isn't going to change. None of them care, don't fool yourself into thinking another guy is going to change things.

Exactly! this is the sad truth, no matter what you believe, politicians are the most selfish humans beings on the planet.

I find it funny how automatically people assume that these illegals are going to be a drain on the system. Our President is working towards immigration reform. Many of these illegals have families here that they help support. What will happen to these families when mom or dad are deported? Who will provide for their children? We definitely wouldn't want these American children born from illegal parents to be a drain on our system. Our country was built by immigrants; both legal and illegal. It seems to me that American's stole this country from its legal inhabitants; the Indians. I know it can be frustrating to have illegals processed before those of us that filed legally but immigration reform needs to start somewhere.

I am SOOOOO tired of hearing how the US stole this country, that the US STOLE labor from the slaves etc etc..this is the typical liberal argument!! One wrong justfies another wrong...moral relativism...

HUMANS are nasty, vile, evil..what can I see..do your history...the Crusades, Slavery, Genocide, Tribalism, Rascism, Castism etc etc....IF we are to go back and try and correct history..where will we end up?...and WHO determines how far back we go??? You????

I think it's appaling. It took 15 months to get my CR-1 visa. And I'm supposed to feel sorry for ILLEGALS? Please, don't make me laugh. After the waiting, sleepless nights and hardships to get to this point. After doing everything by the book to get to this point. I feel NOTHING for illegal aliens. Put them on a cattle truck and ship them off home.

100% agreed.

How can they be American children if their parents were illegals and held different citizenship? Or you can be American kid just by being born in the states?!

Yes, if you came here and gave birth on U.S. soil your child would be granted American citizenship. Under United States law, U.S. citizenship is automatically granted to any person born within and subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S.
