I applied for my wife & daughter's I-485 AOS in the first week of January. At the same time, I also applied for my wife's EAD & AP. We have completed the biometrics already, & the I-485's have been transferred to the California center. I received a flood of emails from CRIS stating that both of their

cards had been ordered into production & we should have them soon.

Does anyone know what "cards" they are referring to? Surely it can't be the green cards already...? If they are green cards, will my wife be able to leave the US & then return using a green card, or will she still need AP?

THE card!! The green card! Yes yes and no. A handful of VJers received that message also and it means you've been approved. Congrats!

Yes you were approved for green card with out interview, just be prepared for an interview when you lift conditions in 2 years time.

Pity they did that so fast, sometimes the fees paid for EAD, and AP tend to be a gamble, you wont need the EAD and AP, the green-card replaces them.

My wife will leave in the middle of March to finish her University classes. If she has

the much-desired Green Card, will it allow her to return to the USA? (I think this question

has already been answered; I just want to be 100% certain that she will be allowed

thru Customs with the green card)

Thanks so much, & good luck to you all!! :)

My wife & daughter received their green cards in the mail on the 21st of February. I am very surprised that everything went so fast! :)

Is there really any point in obtaining the I-55(?) stamp on her passport now?

 No need for the stamp on her passport. The green card is all she needs. :)

Oh, and you can go ahead and get a SSN for your daughter. Your wife can also apply for a new SS card, one that does not have the (Work with DHS authorization) notation on it.

Congratulation to your wife and daughter on their speedy AOS approval!

Congratulations! :)

Your wife can travel outside USA with her green card, but she will have to have her passport with her as well, especially travelling somewhere besides Mexico or Canada. When I went back to my country, both times they wanted to see my passport, not my green card, but when I came back to US, I showed my greencard when I left my country and enetered US.

Your wife can go back to her studies, but she can't stay outside USA for more than 6 months, or she'll loose her rezident status (it is conditional, after all :) )

Have a nice 2 years of uscis freedom!
