Got case number from NVC, not recognised on CEAC website?

Recommended Posts

I rang the NVC a few days ago and managed to get our case number (LND*********). However, when I put it in the CEAC website to check the status, it says "Your search did not return any data." I chose the "Immigrant Visa (IV)" drop down box. I also tried it with the "Non Immigrant" drop down box and selected "England, London" with the same result.

Is this normal, and does it mean that it's too early for it to be in transit to London or something?

Also, can I still book my medical even though the CEAC website doesn't yet acknowledge our case number? I did double check when the NVC officer read out the number over the phone and also read it back to her for confirmation.

I'd like to get the medical scheduled to get on top of the process.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Website should have given you a big red error when you went to it, a lot of the things you do on the site are messed up due to a system error that's been going on lately .

Tried that link above also and still no joy. Is it advisable to go ahead and book the medical anyway?

Do you have your police certificate?

Do you have your shots and a print out from your GP?

Police certificate = yes (see my signature) - and it's "no trace"

Shots - have all of them done and just need the MMR booster. Booked to have that on June 1st, and as soon as that's done my GP will issue a letter stating all my vaccinations.

My plan was to book the medical for the second week of June onwards, by which point I will have everything needed.

However, as our case number/ invoice number doesn't seem to register with the https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx- I wondered if it was wise to try and book my medical? How soon should the CEAC website start recognising case numbers? Does it take a while before you can log in after the case number is issued, or is there an issue with (or possibly incorrect) case number? I double checked on the phone with the officer at the NVC and also read both the case and invoice numbers back to her.

When did you receive your case number? That isn't on your signature or timeline? I gave mine at least 24 hours before it showed up on the CEAC website.

Second week of June sounds fine. I think there is just some issue with you and CEAC. Maybe somebody entered your number wrong or with a space or some odd problem. People show up before their case even gets to London. There is an "in transit" message. Your case could be there this week and you are leaving a long buffer so do it. Do it for first week of June even.

I called last week (on the 12th May). As of today (20th), the CEAC website still doesn't recognise it. However, I called the NVC again last night (on hold for over 40 mins!) and got confirmation from them that the case number and receipt numbers I had previously been given were correct.

Just tried the following links to try and log in:

https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

(message - "The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered does not match our records. Please try again or contact the National Visa Center for further assistance. ")

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

(message - "Your search did not return any data.")

Very weird. However, I booked my medical today using the case number I got from them last week.

Thanks Nich-Nick, and as in my message to Chris above, the CEAC website still won't recognise my case number nor receipt number. I had the NVC confirm both numbers were correct last night, so I went ahead and booked the medical today for the second week of June. I chose it for then as my MMR booster is due at the beginning of the 1st week, and I wanted to ensure that my GP office has plenty of time to issue the vaccination report.

You should be fine with your medical date. Chances are you will have received your packet 3 by the time you attend the medical in any case. London was quite prompt at issuing my packet 3. I got it five days after the case arrived at the embassy, and that included a weekend, so 3 working days.

When you called did you ask "what date did my case leave the NVC?"

That's all you need to know. Four days later, it is in London.

Also for others who may think they have to wait 4 weeks on a second MMR before attending the medical. If you have your first MMR and attend the medical before the four weeks is up, you will get the waiver for "insufficient time interval". No second dose needed for AOS if you are as complete as medically possible and signed off at Knightsbridge with everything... shots or waivers.

No, I didn't ask when my case left the NVC. I didn't think to ask that. Should I call them again, or is it certain that getting the case number on the 12th May means that our file will be in London before the 9th June? Last thing I want to do is turn up for the medical and they aren't ready for me.

Regarding the MMR booster, I guess that as it's only a matter of a couple of weeks I might as well get everything done 100%. It's easy enough for me to get to my doctor for the booster in 10 days time, then get the report issued in time for the medical on 9th June.

You never know for sure on timelines. I would go "all in" betting that your case is in London today. So yeah, to three weeks from now. And your medical won't go to the embassy for 3-4 days after. Then they won't look at it for sometime. Finally an interview letter will come. Maybe a latter half of July interview?

Btw, Chas, the same thing is going on with my number on the website, seems to be a problem for everyone now.

I think we'll try and get the medical sorted in the second or third week of June to be safe. I haven't got time available on be on the phone with the NVC for updates next week. As far as I'm aware our case was still sitting there, but the rep expected it to be sent out in a few days.
