Do you guys cut out coupons out of magazins/ newspapers or even print them out and actually use them?

I still didnt get used to doing that and I never saw my husband using one...

I just found one online from AC&MOORE (40% off any regular priced item) and I will use it tomorrow! It will be my first time using a coupon since we don't have stuff like that in germany ^_^

Newspaper coupons actually require some work--to separate the few useful ones (usually about $2.00-5.00 of the "over $200" that many sunday papers claim) from the unusables.

I read online, so use coupons once-in-blue-moon.

check out ebay for coupons. A great tip I stole from MDyoung.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I used them for about 2-3 months. It was a pain trying to remember to buy the paper, sort through them, and buy the specific items. I did love the savings but I eventually just got tired of doing it. It could work out very well for you if you don't mind putting in the time.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

I just get the Sunday paper (Washington Post) delivered ($1.50 a week) It contains the comics and oodles of coupons!! I don't use the majority of them, but the few I do, more than pay for the paper, plus comics, one can't go wrong.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I was recommended to www.couponmom.com ..... I have often browsed the site and it looks really good, but I have never used the coupons...I am not organized enough to print them out before a shopping trip.

I have read of customers saving a lot of money using coupons. It really depends on the item, the coupon amount, and if there is another brand on sale (or is the store brand just as good?) I used to use them, but I don't get a paper now that has enough of them to bother with clipping. The one supermarket here that's worth shopping at doesn't take internet coupons either. That's another issue.

I remember watching this news program and they were talking about people who use coupons...

There was this one lady who spent a lot of time sorting through coupons etc....and organizing them

they showed her shopping and most times, she would get her groceries for next to nothing... her bill would be about 100 bucks and she would pay 10 bucks, or something like that....

I tried once. It didsave me quite a bit. but tthat was back in the days I zte more pre packaged goods. now we eat mostly meals made from scratch. (Did you ever eat scratch? tasty no?)

We have since joined Costco. The price difference between regular prices in the grocery stores is so greatthat we more than make up themembership. Heck, that istrue just with the gas we buy. i know this isn't an option for everyone, but something consider.

We also did compare with the "savings" we would get if we used coupns. But the coupons are for producs/goods we rarely if ever buy. So, not worth it for us.

The coupons we do use is for restuarants.

good luck!

We have a Sam's membership...sort of like Costco. There are lots of items that we like to buy there that, like you said, more than make up the membership fee. We get a discounted membership for having a lot of us at school who sign up. Anyways, the things we use a lot of we usually buy there instead of regular supermarkets. My favourite is cheese. Shredded. We use a lot of that. Eggs. Another good buy. When we get in our new house and we can avail ourselves of the new kitchen, we plan on stocking the pantry from Sam's.

Ditto on the coupons for items we hardly use. No point in buying an item just because I have a coupon. :)

On Sam's club, can you get normal size products or is everything bulk size?

the weekend one of our grocery stores had a triple coupon weekend -- I spent about $50 for $170 of stuff  I still have the receipt to prove it!

True, some of the stuff I have with coupons are brands that I don't normally buy, but if I get stuff for pennies or for free, I choose not to be picky. ;) Thanks to the coupon program I am on, I was able to stockpile so well that I went for a month in the fall not having to buy anything but milk, juice and bread. And I don't cut every coupon in the flyers that I get, I just cut the ones I know that I will probably use. Combining that with some planning, we do pretty well with the food budget.
