Yeah, his mom was denied today, too! And it's outrageous because she actually has a family and kids and property and a job and everything! But she's not married, so of course they have to pick SOMETHING. But we're not giving up.... We have several local congressmen who have done well in helping and advising others like us in the past, so we're not giving up just yet! That embassy doesn't know who they're dealing with... hehe

But yeah, unfortunately his brother turned 21 AFTER his dad got Spanish citizenship, so he passed the cut off age his other 2 brothers have it and are coming, and his dad, too, but his mom & older brother are the ones we have to get a visa for. If anything, we'll Skype them in, but how much does it suck to not have your best friend and own mom be able to be there for the biggest day of your life? Ugh!

It's funny I never checked USCIS because it was a looong wait. But the last month I've been checking CEAC pretty much every hour of the day. No joke! The last day I checked it I think maybe every 10 minutes I was awake, waiting for the words "AP" and then "Issued". The whole waiting game and being on the edge of our seat, just awaiting a text or update, is insane. Now we're waiting for the delivery email! Aaahh!

April, Yuna, anyone else- any word on interviews? I think a lot of you guys are waiting at NVC still, but hopefully you'll be able to get them soon!

Also- YES! Keep calling about cancellations for an interview. We didn't end up getting any earlier, but it's worth a try to see.

It is really so crazy that we're all here now awaiting final stages. Remember when it felt like we'd never get here? Well.. I feel like I've still had that feeling since the delay with the DOS, though, lol. So happy for everyone

PS. I made an oopsies in my last post and forgot the 1, so I was interviewed 6/15, not 6/5 but I think most of you guys already knew that LOL!

Omg also, guys... I think you'd get a kick out of this.

Someone had mentioned to me a while ago that NVC also can be contacted thru email rather than waiting a million years on the phone. You just put in your case number in the subject line and info in the message, and you can request an email update. So I emailed them on MAY 7th to see if the petition had gotten there or not. Guess what I JUST received? Yup.. an email update... 2 months later and as we're about to receive our visa.

So moral of the story- emailing government organizations is pointless

It's absolutely disgraceful that they denied his family visas.. I hope there's something you can do.

As for us, no interview letter has arrived yet. And I'm going crazy-pants bananas with fret about it. This never feels like it will be over..

Allie, did they really family visa's? That's horrible. Is there a chance to fight the decision and get them over here? So sad. I hope that works out for you guys.

Does anyone know what the BIN number is? I didn't get that when I called today. I got the invoice number and case number. Is this BIN thing something I need?

Yeah We're going to try to fight it. We can't really appeal, but we can get attention on it and put US local governmental pressure So we'll see!

Edit- they applied for tourist visas. I don't know much about visitation or non immigrant family visas, but from what I know, they aren't my family and can't be petitioned by me regardless. So they had to apply for tourist visas to visit and were rejected for the typical 'lack of ties' (because owning a house that you pay bills in, working full time, and having 3 children (one in high school) isn't enough!!)

Just tried to call NVC, and they are apparently having technical issues.. So they can't give out information about any cases...

I should have called yesterday!!! ?

They aren't opening for calls until Monday....

Well that was interesting. According to package 3 I had to sent a form back to the consulate that I had all paperwork ready. Than today I found package 4 in my mailbox. Including an interview date. We're not in TX anymore.
