So today Finally status says Ready!!! But my fiance never received any documents, I called the embassy which is in Dominican Republic and they told me to make 2 appointments first biometric and second interview and that they would give him information about when and where to do medical when he goes for his biometrics. I go into the site and is only letting me schedule one appointment am so confused and worried.Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance!!

The National Visa Center has forwarded your file to the US Embassy/Consulate where you are applying for an immigrant visa. Any other required fees must now be paid directly at the Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview.

Is this as straightforward as it sounds? Hahaha. I just need someone to tell me its as simple as its laid out and I'm not under/over thinking anything....

When did NVC send and when did consulate receive? Give them a few day (time for postal service to get the mail to your fiance).

Congratulations!!! The DR doesn't send a packet 3 (I'm assuming because there are really no addresses nor postal service here). Everything is online. Make an account on ustraveldocs. Complete the information required and fill out the DS160. Go to Banco Popular and pay the $265 fee in pesos ($11,925, i think). Go back to ustraveldocs. Sign up for your biometric appointment and interview. The medical exams are walk-ins, first come, first served. There are now 2 places to complete the exam in Santo Domingo. Here's all the info from the consulate's website: http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/iv-new_process-k1_steps.html. Best of luck!!!

My question is stupid but, do you think it's important to take the original tax return of our joint sponsor to the interview or can it be a copy?

A copy is fine, I believe! (You can always double check with your embassy, though!)

I believe Montreal is like Vancouver and you pay the fee when booking your interview.

Approved on the 9th, and my file is still sitting in Texas. I really wish they would send it to the NVC.

I got a reply from the embassy at last, they sent me an email copy of packet 3. I submitted my DS-160 and everything just need to wait on the medical now.

A little bit of an update.. K1 visa was issued to a friends cousin in Ecuador from June 9th interview! Lots of people on the fb page also have gotten their visas from that date. So looks like all visas in all countries are slowly being issued! DOS probably doesn't want to give an update yet to make sure they've got it handled and that they don't give anyone a false hope. Yayy though!! Looks like it's running today!
