Hi guys! So I need some clarification please!!

My petition for an expedited case at USCIS was approved. NVC received the case yesterday. I have called a few times to see what would be the next step. I have read so many different post about requesting to expedite case even at NVC as well. All 3 agents (when I called) told me that I don't have to request an expedite at NVC b/c it will automatically be expedited since the expedite was approved by USCIS. I asked to please make sure, b/c I am not doing too well (medically speaking) and was hoping to have an interview soon before a complicated procedure will be done to me. She asked me to hold and 2 minutes later she said, your case will be approved within this week to the next.

I am so confused, if it is approved, do I then pay AOS over there? I know that the IV is payed at time of interview because it has been expedited, but if people are having their cases expedited at USCIS, why are they expediting at NVC as well?

Please help!! Thank you!!

I don't think that rep was correct in telling you that .

An expedite is only for the first step, you got approved for that and now that you are at the nvc stage you need to request an expedite with them and send in evidence for your reason .

Ask for a supervisor if you call again the first level people are kinda misguided sometimes .

Hey mama,

They received your expedite quickly CONGRATS. If I was you I would still send the expedite email anyhow to NVC. It doesnt hurt to be on your P's and Q's. Plus with them you may never know.

Thank you ma!

Yes that is what I will be doing, I have the documents to prove it, might as well send it! :)

Just a clarification -- NVC cannot approve an expedite. They received the request and any supporting information, but they then have to contact the Embassy where the application will be processed. It is the Embassy that gives the approval (or denial) of the request to expedite.

I believe yu=ou have been given some bad information; I have never heard of there being an "automatic" expedite of the State Dept process just because USCIS expedited.

Good luck with your case.
