Hate the little buggers . . . but I don't think I want to go hunt them and melt them, yuck!!!

My mother, when she was alive, always wanted to shoot and kill the squirrels in our trees. She never wanted to actually do anything with them afterwards though, and never did shoot the squirrels either. The reason she wanted to "get rid" of the squirrels was because they were constantly digging in and around her garden, and messing things up. My mother hated that. It was actually quite amusing...

That is precisely why I want to get rid of them . . . my yard looks like a mini-bomb site as they have dug so many holes that it is just a mess. At least I didn't buy a bunch of expensive bulbs which they will dig up and toss around. LIttle buggers will dig in the pots and toss out the planets . . . talk about stupid!!! They didn't bury any nuts there so why do they keep looking for them???

I live in an old neighborhood inside the city that has loads of big pecan trees, oak trees with acorns, and numerous varieties of fruit trees. So we have herds of squirrels. At times I have counted dozens foraging in my yard and my neighbor's yards. In the winter the little bastards chewed holes in the wood trim corners of my house and the wood facia to get up in my attic. I could hear them running around up there all day and night. I had to chase them out of the attic and screw galvanized steel plate over the holes to seal them out. Squirrels can be quite aggressive and obnoxious. They hissed and barked at me when I went up into the attic to chase them out. But they retreated when I swatted them with a broom.

If you are sqeamish you can buy a trap to catch them alive for release to somewhere distant. I find it easier to dispatch them with an air operated pellet gun when they get out of hand and destroy my property. However, I'm a live and let live kind of guy...if they don't #### with me...I won't #### with them. We're cool as long as they don't chew on my house or destroy my property.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995
