Review of my wife interview

I'm currently in Citi Garden Suites. Its close to St Luke's and the Embassy. Its a clean 3 star. I paid $52 per night.

Do you mean New World Manila Bay? I have a reservation there on the 25th. It used to be the Hyatt. Do you recommend this hotel for the interview?

No I mean the Hotel right across from the embassy I got the name wrong it is call Bayview. I was looking at my wife text some reason she type it as Manilia bay

I have stay at the Hyatt before the Name change. I use to work for Hyatt so twice I went to Manila I got to stay at that hotel for free( If I had to pay I will still recommend it) It is not that for from the embassy when I got the affidavit from the embassy to married my wife we stay there.

I have not been there since the name change I believe the Hyatt has a hotel in the city of dream resort now and does not own that hotel no more

The Bay View is affordable and I think I will walk over today as it's around the corner. Did your wife recommend the hotel?

yes she said it was a good hotel. It was also her 4 year old niece birthday and they had a pool that her nieces ( ages 4 10 and 12 could swim and celebrate her birthday)

Nice. Just booked it for the 26th. $67 for a sea view with breakfast, not bad.

I went over there and it has a clean lobby with a restaurant. The pool is small, but big enough to cool off. You could walk to the embassy. You have to walk down the street and then cross a bridge that goes across. I agree closer the better. I think I will book also once I get my date.

I remember that bridge right by the embassy a lot of people you have to watch out for. A homeless person slip something into my wife hand She try to give it back he will not take it I told my wife just to put the item on the ground and keep walking

Depends on what part of manila bay by the embassy yes

but then again it show you are from Dallas there are very bad spots in that town

I think I will take Manila bay over Dallas. Very overrated city

I think $67 is a good price considering it's location to the embassy. I wouldn't want my wife to stay in a room cheaper. I went there today and its seems like it would be a safe walk to the embassy. where do you recommend staying by the embassy. My wife lives by the palace I am sure my wife could of stay home and wake up even earlier then she did maybe she could of woke up at 2 am so she could be at the embassy early enough

I have only spent a couple trips in Manila area, I don't know Manila very well. But there are plenty of nice hotels walking distance to Embassy, I think my girl paid like 1800 peso at Hotel Sorentio it next door to St Lukes and maybe 3 to 5 minute walk to Embassy. It was big and clean and nice beds, we had free wifi. I do know just because you pay more doesn't always mean a better hotel in Philippines. And to be truthful hotels there are not like hotels we have here, it still a hotel in Philippines.

I can find nice hotels for around 800 to 1000 peso per night in bigger cities like Davao or Cebu.

But there are plenty of nice hotels walking distance to Embassy, I think my girl paid like 1800 peso at Hotel Sorentio it next door to St Lukes and maybe 3 to 5 minute walk to Embassy. That's true now that I think about it and I haven't been to the hotel you mentioned. Personally I'm comfortable with hotel mentioned by the original poster and it's location to the embassy.

I would of just had her fetch a taxi to the Embassy and fall in line and wait. As long as you don't let the taxi scam you, then taxi are cheap.

I doubt she was more than a 30 minute taxi ride at the time of day.

I have taken many a taxis between 10 pm and 6 am in Manila especially the Ermita area. No traffic and easy to get around.

When I am there I usually don't leave my room until 9 or 10 pm and then bar hop, I will start at Paddis Point and then my favorite place is CCowboys Grill in Ermita, I usually stay out till around 6 am. No traffic and lots to do in Manila......

I would of just had your girl take a taxi and save the money if she lived in or near Manila. And I sure wouldn't be paying $67 for a hotel in the Philippines, but that is me. If you could find safe hotels for around 800 peso near the Embassy, then I would stay. But in your case I would of just had her take a taxi.
