Help! I have had my i-864 form sent back with comments regarding Part 3 and Part 5

I am the only joint sponsor. My dad is sponsoring my sister. Because of his retirement status and lack of income, I am a joint sponsor because of the income requirements.

-I answered "Yes" to Item 1 in part 3, which asks "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant names in Part 2"

-Items 2.b through 6.f are not applicable, as I am not sponsoring anybody other than the person listed in Part 2

-I answered "1" to Item 7 in part 3. It asks you to "enter the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring on this form from Items 1 through 6".

The government response in their comment letter was as follows:

"In Part 3, Information on the Immigrant(s) you are sponsoring, please correct the following:

Item 7: The total number of immigrants listed in item 7 must equal the number of immigrants listed in Part 3, items 1 through 6.f. In addition, you must also verify that the total number of immigrants listed in Item 7 matches the number you entered in Part 5 Item 1.

I believe answering 1 is correct for Item 7 of Part 3. There is no other logical answer. I am the only joint sponsor for the person in part 2. This adds up to a total of 1. In addition, I entered "1" into Item 1 of part 5, as instructed.

Please help! Am I not interpreting the form correctly? I am the only joint sponsor. I am only sponsoring one person, as indicated in Part 2. I answered "1" across the board and they are telling me I did it incorrectly. Does anybody have any ideas how I can resubmit this successfully?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They also said that part 5 was done incorrectly. Here is their response:

In Part 5. Sponsor's household size, please correct the following:

"Item 2. You must enter (1) for yourself in the field.

"Item 8. The household size must equal the sum of items 1-7."

I entered "1" for Item 1 of part 5 to indicate that I am sponsoring 1 person. I also entered "1" for item 2 of part 5 to account for myself in the household total. These totaled to my answer of "2" in Item 8 of Part 5.

Their was an error in the electronic form on my browser, as it did not allow me to type "1" into Item 2, so I manually wrote it in after it was printed out. Aside from the fact that one question was written in, it still indicated that 1+1=2.

Does anyone experienced the same issue as am I? Am I missing something obvious on either of these two (seemingly simple) questions?

I'm stressed!!! Please help!!!

Hello and thank you!

So you think I did it right? They told me that I did it wrong twice already. So you think it is the computer error not my mistake? I had lost 4 months because of these mistake. Each time I sent my paperwork that they requested took them 2 months to review then get back to me with the same mistake.

I am so frustrated!

You've said that you have not listed anyone in Part 3, but you think that you need to put 1 in item 7, while you need to put 0.

It is only asking you how many immigrants you have listed in Part 3 in addition to the Principal Immigrant you have listed in Part 2.

>>Item 7: The total number of immigrants listed in item 7 must equal the number of immigrants listed in Part 3, items 1 through 6.f.

>>-I answered "1" to Item 7 in part 3. It asks you to "enter the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring on this form from Items 1 through 6".

>>Items 2.b through 6.f are not applicable, as I am not sponsoring anybody other than the person listed in Part 2
