I doubt SSA sent a second one to the new address. You should text your ex-wife to get the social security number. You don't need the physical card for most things. For example, you should be able to enter payroll in your work and start working. If your wife said she's going to mail it to you, wait for it at least another two weeks before going to SS office.

If you go now and tell them you didn't received it yet, they'll probably tell you to wait because it's still on the mail. And if you tell them your ex-wife stole it, they'll tell you to go to the cops.

If you have the SS number it'll be easier to get a second copy of the card, but without the number, I hope you didn't trash the letter they gave you when you applied in the office because you'll probably need it.

When I went to SS office officer there told me that the card will be mailed on my new address. He also gave me social security number. I do have social security number. Officer had hand written number on social security receipt.

My wife is very angry person. Once she burnt original marriage certificate. I ordered certified certificate. It is very stressful. I know she did very bad to me and she is continuing to destroy everything, still I feel pity that she is ruining her life .

Not sure where my card is, all you need is the number.

Oh I had number but when I went to sign in for a drivers licence lady told me that I need actual card to do so. Don't know.

I did this a while back when my ex went behind my back after I filed for a family member, to obtain EP processing after being served Divorce papers, it took 2 formal letters to both the NVC and USCIS, and an email copy of the same letter sent to the Local Embassy. The Visa wasn't issued prior to these letter, so yes it can be Stopped.

kkk1,

I was the petitioner, not the ex, so what I'm saying is this is what she could do, but if you already have the Visa and Conditional GC in hand, there is nothing she can do to you from entering the the USA. Had she start down this road ie. before "Interview", and before you got the Visa of entered the USA, then she could have stopped the whole process.

There is not for you to do at this point, enjoy life.

When you asked for the Social Security card to be sent to the new address, did you ask for a replacement card? I'm assuming so because the employee gave you your number. If yes, then you'll probably get one on the new address then.

May 29th, 2015 - Sent AOS package

June 1, 2015 - Package received by USCIS

June 4, 2015 - Biometrics Fee Accepted

June 20, 2015 - Biometrics Appointment Letter Received

June 30, 2015 - Biometrics Appointment

August 6, 2015 - I-131 approved

August 6, 2015 - Your card was ordered

August 7, 2015 - I-765 approved

August 20, 2015 - EAD received

I didn't ask officer for card replacement and I told them I just arrived and I changed my address and gave them their new address. officer gave me assurance that card will come to my new address since he asked system to process on my new address. Today I called social security office to tell them I didnt receive card and they told me to come to office and hightlight this to social security office by personally visiting and you will receive your card since you should receive it last week. It is very confusing. If my wife mails me it is good otherwise i need to go police if she keeps my identity or vital document with her.

I think you are over stressing, your wife brought you in the US right ? so going to police might complicate things even further. Try to be civil.

Friend I am really avoiding police and all legal issues, I know it will be stressful for me, my family and her family as well. I would have went to police much earlier if I wanted to, when she had brought a new guy in a home for which I paid for everything. Her moved in cost from phoenix to Houston. I am keeping my self very calm. It is feeling just like someone is burning your own home in front of you and you can't really do anything about it. Hopefully she mailed me by now and I might receive it on Wednesday, if not then I will go to Social Security office again and request for other card, telling me that I haven't received it. She is acting irrational. I was surprised when she said she was thinking that she did wrong and for that she is considering herself stupid. I hope this is final that she said relationship is over.

Thanks for appreciation. Well TBone Tx you guys made me strong to come US. I know how many people over here suggested me to come and lead a better life. Without this website and help that I receive from all of you I might not be able to reach to place I am. Millions of thanks to all of Vj members and this website. When my own wife turned un-greatfull to me, people who don't even know me supported me.

I am in 3rd country right now and working here. My wife is USC. I received IR-1 visa in month of feb 2015.

If you are positive that it is a IR-1 visa and not a CR-1 visa then you do not have to worry about anything as you already have a job in the USA. Your wife won't be able to revoke your visa without proving fraud. Proving fraud at the inception of marriage is a hard thing to do if you have evidence of religious or civil marriage taking place between you two and have court documents to prove that marriage indeed took place. You should come and join your new job in the USA but, you must stay away from your wife and never contact her without an attorney. Never meet her alone, take her phone calls - simply cut her out of your life. If you do not pay heed to this little advice from me, you may end up repenting your visit to the USA for the rest of your mortal life. U.S. Justice system will destroy you if your wife merely decides to lie in front of a district court judge. Nothing that you say or do will matter. You will suffer.

If you have a CR-1 visa, you are in murky waters. Legally you can't enter the United states on CR-1 visa knowingly that your wife had requested your visa to be withdrawn. You can play the game w/ customs and claim you did not know it was for real or for that matter you never knew but, end of the day, you will never be able to adjust the status if your wife had already sent in the notarized letter to USCIS or signed the letter in front of a USCIS Officer before you got legally admitted in the U.S.A. So, you will be here for the max period of two years and then your CR-1 visa will expire. It doubtful, as a man, you will be able to succeed in your claaim during deferred inspection hearing with customs. Yes, gender plays a HUGE role in US Justice system - love it or hate it, it does. So, be careful.

If you managed to get admitted on CR-1 visa for two years in the USA, you will also have one surefire option to be a US citizen, if you are under the age of 35, by serving in U.S. Military. Many people have done this and it's an honorable thing to do.

Good Luck in whatever you choose to do but, stay the hell away from your soon-to-be-ex wife. Better yet once you are here, sue her for breach of contract to recoup 80-90k that you claimed to have spent on her. However, be prepared to shell dough on US's finest, attorneys, to receive justice.
