Form W-8BEN - is there a deadline?

Hello all,

Just a quick question: A few weeks ago, my husband and I (I entered on a K-1 visa and am now in the AOS process) finally opened our joint bank account at Chase Bank. So far so good. Everything went according to plan.

When we opened it, the guy we talked to gave me the Instructions for Form W-8BEN but much has happened over the past few weeks and I haven't looked at them again, since. Was I supposed to fill out Form W-8BEN when we opened the account and should I have mailed it out already? Is there a deadline for this form to be sent out to the IRS or should I just print it out and fill it out now and then mail it out as soon as possible?
