I'm hopeless at mathematics and I was wondering if anyone knows where there's a countdown (or countup) calculator on the internet that you peg in a date and work out exactly how long it's been? Or do people just sit down with a pen and paper and a bunch of printed calenders and work out out by hand?

- Proposal (20 August 2000) to marriage (19 December 2004) - 4 years, 3 months, 25 days (1,578 days)

STAGE 1 - Applying for K1 (15 September 2003) to K1 Approval (13 July 2004) - 9 months, 29 days (303 days)

STAGE 2A - Arriving in US (4 Nov 2004) to AOS Application (16 April 2005) - 5 months, 13 days (164 days)

STAGE 2B - Applying for AOS to GC Approval - 9 months, 4 days (279 days)

STAGE 3 - Lifting Conditions. Filing (19 Dec 2007) to Approval (December 11 2008)

STAGE 4 - CITIZENSHIP (filing under 5-year rule - residency start date on green card Jan 11th, 2006)

*N400 filed December 15, 2011

*Interview March 12, 2012

*Oath Ceremony March 23, 2012.

Thank you Aussiewench! That looks like EXACTLY what i was looking for! Why do the hard labour yourself when you can plug it into a computer and let the processor take care of it? :)

PS. I tried to 'add as quote' and it didn't work in firefox! Nothing happened!

Yep, day after Christmas. I did the life expectancy calculator someone posted and I'm good till 84, so 50 is no big deal. I just want to live until I can retire at 55 so I tell work to KMA.

I like to use Excel or some other spreadsheet program. Just type into a cell

open up excel

put a date in one cell

put a date in another cell

third cell, subtract one date from the other ....... if you get some whacky date as the result - go to format the cell, and select number for the type...and u'll get number of days.

Timeline

3/09/07 - Mailed out I-751 to TSC - expiration date is 03/13/07 - Cutting it close!

3/12/07 - USPS confirms delivery

3/13/07 - Check clears bank

3/21/07 - Reciept for BioMetrics Fee

I said I was bowing out of that forum for a few months so I didn't look at the thread again after I got the answer to my question and thanked Russiangirl for giving it to me! Then it occurred to me that there might be a handy-dandy date calculator someplace I could use to figure these things out for myself so I asked in O/T...

open up excel

put a date in one cell

put a date in another cell

third cell, subtract one date from the other ....... if you get some whacky date as the result - go to format the cell, and select number for the type...and u'll get number of days.

I wouldn't have thought of that... I'm not really a spreadysheety-type person, but it's a good idea!

Mayan calendar its easiest to use qnd understand. however it ends dec 21st 2012

august 2004 I-129 filed (neb)

DEC 2004 Approved

interview: SEOUL

MArch 21st , 2005AR for special security clearance,washington

May 18th tranfer case from Seoul to Islammabad

June 21st security clearance done

June 28th online at the embassy in Islamabad

waiting for paper transfer and the good word

OCTOBER 14TH 2005 Interview Number 2: ISLAMABAD, PK

AR number 2 sent to DOS per Islamabad (2 cable request)

Nov 22 okd updated financial and etc proof accepted / embassy waiting for security cables

dec 20th one cable back waiting on 2nd

Jan 17th.. good word recieved. SECURITY CHECKS ALL CLEAR!!! DOS says embassy to contact him within two weeks!!!!!!

FEBRUARY 10th, 2006 VISA RECIEVED!!! They called him In via phone, stamped his passort and sent him on his way!!!

FEB 28th WELCOME HOME>>>POE CHICAGO did not even look at xray, few questions. one hour wait at Poe

march 10th marriage (nikkah at the islamic center)

aug 2006 AOS interview, cond 2 yr GC arrived september

June 2008 applied for removal of conditions on permant residency aka awaiting for 10 yr greencard

Dec 2008 10yr green card approved, no interview.
