In my opinion, "this is over-kill to the highest magnitude".,., you are going to cause yourself a great amount of grief, if you send this document in.

I would NOT do it.

Just two letters of intent to marry, within 90 days, signed in ink.,.,.,that's it!

I respect your customs, just do not create grief for your journey!

This IS a marriage.,.,.,the document you describe.

Thanks again all! I guess that means I shouldn't include the many photos of our formal engagement in front of numerous guests! That will definitely look, smell, taste, and everything else like a wedding. I spent a lot of time explaining to my friends that I didn't get married, but I don't know if I could convince USCIS!

If you posted the engagement/wedding pictures to any social media account like facebook...Then the government will know already and will start wondering whats going on. Keep the letter of intend SIMPLE. No need to have an engagement ceremony with 450 guests! That will certainly look and smell like a big wedding. We already go under enough scrutiny just by applying for a k1 visa, lets not make it worse. Good luck in your journey.

Well, I can't undo what's been done :-/. We simply followed the customs of Indian culture. I couldn't help but celebrate with pics so my friends in the US could celebrate with me. But the reality is we didn't get married! If I'm rejected for having a culturally normal engagement that looked like a wedding to the USCIS what are my other options?

Get married and apply for a Cr1 visa.
