Don't worry about things you can't control. You might feel very frustrated at some point. try to stay patient, positive and strong. Try to find people here in visa journey who are going thru the same process you are going thru, someone who can encourage you and understand you. It will make things easier. Good luck! :luv:

1. I was lost and in the "dark" until I accidentally found VJ.com.,., then it was like a "light" turned on, I had so much help here.

2. Yes, my wife is Filipino, and was "caught" in the fraudulent "Sputum Fiasco" at St. Lukes Medical Center.,.,.and it cost us an extra 2 and 1/2 months.,...,.that was painful!

It took 10 months and 4 days, to P.O.E., Atlanta, Ga...,., and 186 days for NOA 2,...,.so a long time after NOA 2 to get to the USA, so many things can and will happen.

1. Have you been frustrated or had difficulty with your immigration at any point?
No, everything went as predicted and took the average length of time as expected.
2. What other resources (books, websites, family etc.) did you use to learn about the K1 Visa process?
None, it's really not that difficult. If you Read the Guides and follow the Example Forms, there isn't much left that is mysterious.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Ditto.

Because of the user statistics, I used my mother's address in AZ to get routed to the CSC, which has been a completely different experience had I used my own. (I used my address everywhere else in the petition and changed my address after receipt, so I don't consider it fraud.) Especially since the week after my NOA1, certain TSC filers were getting routed to CSC randomly. This was a perfect situation for us because with recent notable attacks in his home city and university city and his father (the only breadwinner in the household) is experiencing severe recent health problems.

Given our filing country, instability of events don't surprise me. But had it not been for this site, the TSC wait time would have surprised me and would have added frustration and even desperation. This site is truly a blessing. I know a lot of us may not have joined if we had to pay a membership fee, which could have affected the timeline statistics, but any fee that I would have paid with the information I gained from this site would be worth every penny.

To all who work at visajouney.com - thank you from the bottom of ALL OUR hearts!!!!

Amhara,

I'm not sure that you should post here that you changed your address if you don't actually live in AZ, and especially saying that you changed to to be routed to CSC. You don't want to get in trouble for using a false address. I'm not sure of the law if it's "temporary" and you are actually there for a little while. You have no idea how badly I wanted to work in our San Fran office for this reason but again it wouldn't be my permanent.

Best,

K

12/09/2014- Received NOA1 in mail (Notice Date 12/02/2014)

*System still says last touched date 12/03 :(

Like others poster said, I dont think it was a good idea that you started using another address just for the sake of being routed to CSC. At some point, they will know you lied and in something so simple like that. Believe it or not that might come and bite you in the ### someday. If all of us will start using "fake" address to get the best and fast processing center this would be insane. I will suggest you start using your real address from now on. Little lies like this only get bigger later. Just a suggestion for you.

I am sorry to have hurt yours and any others conscience. However, I will not hide what I did. I know that what I did was not completely kosher, but what I did was "true and correct" in my eyes; if it had hurt my conscience, I wouldn't have done it. My fiance didn't want to, except the day I was sending the petition, he agreed to use my mother's address. I hope my respect is conveyed in my response. I am not trying to defend myself from being a 'bad person' - feel free to think what I did was as bad as you want to. I want to explain a little more on why I did and my viewpoint.

My mother has owned our Sonoran land for over 25 years; it is thus my inheritance. I have only held my leasehold for three years. Which is more permanent? I used the Arizonan address for Form I-129F, line 2, and appears nowhere else on our petition. My Dallas address is on Form I-129-F, line 28 (with the words, "With me MY NAME" written next to it), on my letter of intent, on my Form G-325A and on all the other forms. (I included everything in my petition - even the embassy forms like tax return transcripts and Form I-134. These also have my Dallas address.) After my NOA1, I changed my address in the system.

Why? Because I've read several posts on this site where someone was trying to find out why they have been waiting 8+ months, and USCIS has told them to go fly a kite. I appreciate the visa process giving people a legal way to US citizenship that protects current American citizens. Perhaps more than a few of us has experienced some xenophobia and treated like we are loons. Non-resident alien issues are a hot topic now. However, the government works FOR us! It is supposed to work for the people! How can they tell us "petitions get worked in the order received"? We know from this site that is not true.

Kristen, you are going through it right now, and you may have seen the same posts I have seen where people that have been waiting longer than 7 months get their Congressional representative involved, only for the TSC to say "No! CSC does not work faster than us! We are just a little backed up - that is all." Really? An officer can approve a petition the day they touch it! I blame the USCIS service center management and I don't feel bad for getting around their MIS-management! They know the constraints they are working under, so their answer is to deny those constraints? Who on earth is preventing them from looking at how their system works and trying to improve it? It seems like they may have tried last year - and even if it was a failure, can't they try to fix the problems they experienced? Not even try???? I haven't checked in the past two months, but last time I looked Philippine petitions were being processed in a reasonable time at TSC, so it's not impossible to accomplish.

I wouldn't mind waiting 5+ months to get my petition approved, if that was the logical, fair treatment. I know life isn't fair, but it was my own little way of protesting the system. I knew that the processors at the lock box would check my mailing address (not permanent address) and the chances of CSC were high. The form requires us to sign that we will not "knowingly and willingly falsifying or concealing a material fact or using any false documentation in submitting this petition". I don't believe I have.

The OP asked if any of us have had frustrations with this process. I saw the pain that many have been going through. A visa isn't our right; it is a privilege. I am grateful that my government gives me a path to start my family with this guy. However, I don't like how the USCIS is ignoring the fact that our petitions represent our lives, our hearts, our families. Telling us that CSC filers are lying about how quickly they are getting their NOA2 is treating TSC filers like second class citizens and I don't think that is right.

And I didn't want you to feel like I was attacking you for your position. I think it would be more discreet of me not to say anything about it, but the response that some fellow VJers have gotten from the TSC just eats under my skin like nothing else! But I just don't feel like I should hide it; and maybe that is a dumb thing to admit. I would be open with any of the agencies, if asked, but hopefully I could get in the rest of my words too.

It's like driving through a yellow light. You won't lose your license, but you sure can get pulled over for it. I know I will joke with people in my car when I see someone running a red light, "FELON!" I condemn the driver...as they drive away...
