Scottish castle wedding venues?

I have a friend who wants to get married Sept 07 in Scotland.

They were thinking St. Andrews, but it might be a bit too far north - so maybe just outside Edinburgh...

They're hoping to have it all under one roof - sleep, wedding & reception. A planner sent them this place http://www.dalhousiecastle.co.uk which is great but it's expensive per night (195 GBP) and the reception room is too modern - it looks like any hotel in the usa. They want a big stone room with a fireplace, some lounging couches and a long wood table for everyone to sit down to dinner and enough room to dance as well....help!

Thanks VJers!

St Andrews is only a hour drive from Edinburgh. Its not so bad.

Not really sure, we had a service on the West Coast, most of those kind of places are going to be farther North from what I understand. I just did a quick Google search and all of them were North of St Andrews.

Hi, it may be too North-but we had our at a place called Ardoe House in Aberdeenshire. It was beautiful, and our wedding attendant Pauline was SUPERB !!!

There are accomodations on the premises, and the grounds were really great for taking pics...

I believe you can find the place on a Google search.
