Don't take heed in anything anybody says on this site. Listen only to the information that is directly related toward forms and other evidencial factors. I'm going to say this one time, so listen up: THE INTERVIEW PROCESS IS EXTREMELY SUBJECTIVE!!! Disagree if you will. If you're an American, go to the interview, let your presence be known. Write a letter for your fiancee to give to the officer, if for some reason you can't make the thousand's of mile's of a trip. Sign, notorize the letter. Let them know you're here, or there, and you'll fight the decision if it's a negitive responce. If you're a green card holder, good luck, you're in a lose, lose situation; write a letter to submit and hope for the best. The odds will be against you wheather you're a US citizen, or a green card holder, prove them wrong! Fight it before they make you fight for it! Get everything in order, show your face/writing. I passed with a $9,500 dollar 2006 income...What can I say? My fiancee fought for it, I fought for it. If you're indeed real, don't take their ######. Get it together and do it right! My point is this: Don't listen to the stories writen on this site. Some may want 'official' tax transcripts, some may want your 2006's, because the 2005's were not good enough, some may want a video of you talking in Vietnamese....Get what I'm saying? IT'S SUBJECIVE! It's all up to the interviewer and his/her attitude that day. Don't worry yourself sick because someone else failed who was in the same situation as you. He may fail and you'll pass. Good luck to everyone else and thank you for the support.

Yeah, I'll disagree with you. There is some very good information presented by members of VJ. And not just all related to forms. Granted, the interview process is very subjective. This is the internet. It is up to the users to take in the info they see and process it, decide which is useful and which is b.s. Otherwise, there would be no use for VJ. I think Patricks put it best, "trust but verify".

ridejewel,

you're giving me flashback of someone we've seen on VJ.... I hope this is strictly just your opinion of the whole Visa process, based on your own experience which ONLY applies to your case alone and has absolutely no value to others who do not have the same or even similiar case. Be humble and grateful that your case passed without any issue. Move on and focus on the next transistioning phase!

Good luck and thank you for sharing your personal opinion. Subjective it may be, but what can you do to increase or reduce the risk of that subjective matter from affecting your case, that's the question!

My point is this: Dont let what other people experienced worry you sick, what bad thing that may have happened to somebody else, might not happen to you.

The members on the Vietnam side of VisaJourney are a tight knit group of people. There are many, many experienced members that provide invaluable resources to those going through the visa process. I'm very appreciative to have had the opportunity to benefit from the advice of members like chuckandkim, dalegg, patricks, wait4ever, vietnam, etc. that helped my wife and others as we were going through last year. I can't imagine having to go through this process blind and without the resources of VisaJourney and the loyal members who've stuck around long after their experience to lend advice to those new and anxious about the process!

I could not agree more. Every case is different, and every interview is different.

Maybe it would be better to say that these post are our own opinions, educated opinions, and some concrete facts. It is up to the individual to evaluate the information given, and use it as they may to help answer any questions or to guide them thru the grueling process. We are all here to help each other.

Good Luck to everyone on their journey!!!!!!

Hello from the Nam, the day before the BIG day. (Everyone is running around HCMC like a chicken with their heads cut off....) By the way, my wife's family has a live chicken in the back yard with one leg tied to the tree waiting for it's destiny tonight, poor fellow......

OK, the visa, I used numerous sources:

Visa Journey

HCMC Consulate's web site

USCIS web site

The State dot Gov web site

The Chinese version of Visa Journey ( I forgot the name )

Go to the 9th floor of the Dutch Bank building on Le Loi street for US Citizens section walk in, just say hi and ask some casual questions, they're all connected to the US Consualte on Le Duan street and they know the ends and outs. (the walk up window usually isn't busy)

Finally, numerous local people gave my wife advice, and I made sure, she told me everything they told her and then I gave her my opinion if this "unsoliciated" advice was accurate or not.

Use Common Sense! (Sorry, I don't recommend a lawyer.......it's not necessary, if everything is NORMAL)

i think that you should take into everything that you read on our posts. i know that without the knowledge and information that i got from my fellow Vietnam VJ friends i would have been a wreck.

Everything in government is NOT all black or white. America always seems to be in that grey area. Each case is different.

be nice and respect everyone that gives you information.

take what you want out of it. and respect all those who give you advise

my $.02 cents are in

Good Times

Okay, im kind of new here...what flashback? Who do I remind you of? I really meant nothing bad by what I said, I just, personally, would read things on VJ and get all stressed and worried...especially about the 1722 and the official tax transcripts. I just wanted others to know that the process is subjective.

Wait4ever, I should be spanked :D:no::no::lol::lol:

ridejewel, i see your point and agree. I have learned from each members who are making a possitive impact to the community and even the one who doesn't. I benefit from mistake I made and was corrected by you guys through PM, phone-calls or Chat. Why? Everyone just wants to make sure what you, all of us, post on this forum is correct and with as much facts as humanly possible. I post disinformation and misinformation on this board before, without claiming (IMHO), guess what, got corrected by others and I think that keep me in line. To answer your question, you give me flashback of me...HAHAHAHA. Just stay focus Ride, get your wife here and the next step of this journey will be even more challenge than this one... the USCIS and States Dept never told you that, nor did they tell me. The key here is, "IMHO". That way people won't get worry for nothing, and if they did, it's their own fault 90% and 10% is yours hahaha!

Good luck and come home soon...
