Congrats!

What packet are you talking about?

Now that you've gotten your approval the next step would be to call NVC after about 2 weeks from now to get your case and Invoice number for you to log into their website and fill in forms and pay fees. When calling NVC, once you get through, give you and your husbands email addresses so that all future correspondence will be done via email- which is a better option for applicants these days unless you choose otherwise.

Oh thank you! I managed to find another guide, it is just not super detailed on the guide I was already on. I guess you have to look around and really rely on other users here! I would really like to try and plan a little but it seems impossible. I cannot figure out when the medical exam is, if we schedule or they do, if it can be done here, if they want translated medical records. Along with a host of other questions. I'm just trying to tread water here. Will call the NVC! Thank you for your advice!!

YW and Definitely! You have to look around and try to make sense of the details involved in each step esp when dealing with NVC.

Saylins wiki (link below) really helped me understand the whole NVC process right down to the medicals and the interview. Remember the medical exam is the last thing that is required of the beneficiary before the interview and is scheduled by the beneficiary. I really doubt there should be any problem over the translation of medical records because the US Embassy in each country have their own panel of physicians - they work with the US Embassy. Your spouse will go to one of these US cetified doctors and schedule for a medical exam.

Ya know you can always email an inquiry to the US Embassy in Portugal for more definte answers

All the best! :star:

Did anyone call NVC yet? Or heard anytging from them since i-130 approval??

I've been trying to call, most of the time I get a thing that just tells me to try calling back later, and when it finally does ring I am on hold and elevator music for 30 minutes before the music just shuts off before terminating the call. Will update if I manage to get through to a human being.

Case approved 11/04 from May 2015!! Am unsure of next steps, I know the packet will get mailed to him overseas but the instructions seem vague on where we will be mailing it. ( Already have the AOS ready to go) Should I be taking a prestamped envelope with me when I go visit over xmas? Do I need to be submitting it in the US once i come back or does it need to be sent from the intending immigrants address? If it is sent from overseas does that mean we shouldn't be sending it to t the US address, the US address collects a fee (not a problem) but apparently sends out some other kind of notice for you to pay the fee and fill out more online paperwork? When is that actually told for the sponsor/petitioner to do. Ugh, the I-130 process is so clearly documented and the rest of the process seems so vague.

Congratulations. Start calling NVC after 2 weeks from approval. I strongly suggest you read the NV Process so you know whats up.

So how long is the wait time with nvc it seems like allot of paper work on the link u provided ☝

Wait time for what to get doe or get interview. It should take about 3 to 4 weeks to get to NV and get case# that why you eed to sart calling after 2 weeks Once you get all documents in you get case complete.

Now the hard time for Jamaica is a 3 to 4 month wait after case complete sorry.
