Just to clarify...

How many times have you been shot?

How many times have you been arrested for buying a TV or a car?

How does one "assume one uses an EBT card"?

Easy. When they see you have a basket full of groceries they tell you your total and ask, is that an EBT card?

Are you asked this question when you shop?

just about every single conservative rant about food stamps starts off with someone in a grocery line not minding their business and judging another person's purchases.

I guess we have all been there and seen it.

right. and it's the reactionary types that can't control their personal response. i see someone using a ebt card and i make a purposeful effort not to judge. which can be hard, especially when dropping a couple hundred bucks a week on groceries. bottom line, i have no clue as to that person's situation and i can't control anything about that person's situation.

also, i've used someone else's card to buy groceries for them before. being on the other side of those stares/glares isn't fun.

Seen what? The pimped up rides that they get into after the purchases are complete?

Only noticed because it seems it works like a debit card and she had maxed it out. Had to take a few things out.

I was standing in line behind her and noticed there was not a nutritional item in there, all junk food. Seemed odd, but she was full sized American. Well over $100.

As far as I could tel the card was swiped just like any other debit card and I would never have know if it had not been maxed out.

you might not be aware, slumming seems way below you, but nutritional items are expensive. way more expensive than junk food. there are plenty of examples on the internets of politicians or other rich folk, attempting to food budget their current lifestyles (healthy) by foodstamp requirements. can't be done.

Bingo! Also, I didn't know purchasing $200 in groceries was an automatic qualifier to be a food stamp recipient.

 So now, every person on food stamps have pimped up rides? Really?

Have you not noticed nutritional food is expensive?

I can assure you my $200 in groceries is on fish, like fillets, salmon, tuna, sardines, some cereal, wheat bread, lean beef, lean chicken, corn, spinach, 0% fat free milk, yogurt, etc. Sometimes it seems like I don't have enough food because nutritional food is sooo expensive.

If I bought $200 in unhealthy junk food, my basket would be overflowing.

I am quite aware of how much things cost, this was a trolley full of #######. It was all on belt in front of me, I do not usually pay much attention but this was definitely a ####### moment.

Not even a loaf of over processed bread, the food stamp thing came in later, I was just gob smacked with the amount of ####### especially taking into account her size.

Yo, I'm trying the right wing approach here. I've seen it a time or two. Thus, it must be universally so.

The right wing approach is always right. I am a right winger and I approve this message.

What do you consider junk food?

Everything from the crisp isle for a start, things that seem to be 90% sugar. All the things that I will eat a bag of and then feel afterwards that i really should not have done that.

Sorry should have taken notes, perhaps a few photos like the people of Walmart.
