I am presently preparing the K-1 packet, and Omer will send me:

1. 4 signed G325 A forms

2. the Fiance letter of Intent

3. the statement (letter) describing our in person meetings over the past two years.

4. 2 color passport photos

Can he work with a translator to submit everything in English, Or must he have everything in Turkish and English?

I'm thinking that since his is primary language is Turkish, he should complete the forms in Turkish as well as letters. He will have copies of everything in English with signatures/dates etc....

Can anyone tell me what needs to have an affidavit?

Any other advice is welcome!

Thanks so much!

Since the package is going to USCIS everything needs to be in English. The only exception is email and chats, if you communicate in Turkish then they can be left untranslated, they just want to see evidence of regular communication.

You only need 1 passport photo from each petitioner and beneficiary in the packet.

Not quite sure what you mean by affidavit, the only affidavit involved with a K-1 is affidavit of support and that is submitted at the visa interview later in the process.

Looks like he is sending what is needed from his end.

:guides: The K-1 guide explains exactly what is needed.

In the I129F instructions- #2 . D. It states that all foreign documents must be accompanied by an English version AS WELL AS a note from the tranlslator that he/she is certified to translate English.

Omer's primary language is Turkish, and although we can have a friend translate into English, I fear if it is not done by a "certified" translator it will be invalid.

I said 2 color photos- as I am making a binder of originals, and thought it a good idea to have an extra.

Thanks for replying.

I wonder id anyone ever had a certified translator prepare letters?

There are not really any foreign documents used in the initial petition. The requirement is for documents used later in the process such as police records and birth certificates which may be in the original language of the country of origin. All the forms 1-129F and G-325A, etc need to be in English. The letter of intent to marry should also be in English.
