Correct signatures.

Is there a preferred or correct way to sign visa application forms - full name or just the way you normally sign a check?

Your signature is your signature no matter how it looks. If you always sign with an X since you were a kid, than it's an X. If it's a scribly mess that no one can decipher than that's what it is. Should have to go without saying but make sure it's consistent across all documents. Of course if you're using the signature you always use it would be.

This question comes up at least one a week, it's kind of surprising how often I see it.

For all my immigration papers I always have used the same signature which it's like a scribble. I suggest you use the signature you usually use, that way you wont have signatures inconsistency in this and / or in your future's immigration processes.

And for futur reference, though I can see you from Austrailia...signature is also in whatever native language the person uses.
