Me and my wife currently living in USA. I am on H1B and my wife is permanent resident. She filed family based GC for me under F2A category and my I-130 is approved. But the NVC case number is BMBXXXXXXXXXX and online we found out, BMB stands for Mumbai consulate(India) , does that mean I will get visa interview in Mumbai when my visa number is available?.

1) why my case is assigned to BMB(Mumbai consulate), though I live and work in USA.

2) Can I request NVC/USCIS to have my visa interview in USA consulate near I live. How should I proceed?

Thanks in Advance.
