applying for AP online

i was reading through a thread and i saw that someone had in their timeline that the appied for AP online, can this be done? and if so what is the link, i kinda skimmed through the uscis website and did not find the options

how long does it usually take for an AP to be approved? my application is in MSC and my local office is in pittsburgh.

the reason I am asking is that i need to go oversees in May to attend a wedding, and if the AP is gonna take 3 months to be approved then i might not work out, but if it take a matter of a month or so then it would be worth filing...

does anybody know about this?

I've seen people get them between 75-100 days. If you had a special event to attend there is no harm in applying and then going to your local office and/or contacting a congressman and asking for it to be expidited. Though there is no guarentee that they will speed up the processing. If you have overstayed in the US 180 days or more (don't know what visa you are applying from or if you overstayed), then you don't want to leave the US until you have your greencard.

I am assuming your "application" is your AOS, not an AP application. I have never seen an AP approved in a month. You may want to apply now while you still may be in the window of approval for when you need it, or you can go to the local office and ask for an Emergency one (although they likely will not think a wedding is an emergency).

I concurr what Jane says about being very careful depending on how you entered though and if you have overstay, etc.

i have already filed for AOS but was thinking about getting an AP. i am currently here in the states on an F1 student visa and even though my student visa has expired, i am still in status because I am still a full time student. i will be graduating this May, but i think that even when i graduate (no longer a full time student), i will still be in legal status since I had already filed for AOS. now i was hoping to travel oversees in May, and just was wondering if i file for AP now, whether it will be approved sometime before May so that I can reserve a plane ticket early.
