Hi,

I was writing a cover letter, and a question came up.

I am supposed to write down my local USCIS office address (according to the i129 sample cover letter), but what would that be if I was applying for AOS concurrently with i130? Is it the lockbox in Chicago, or California Service Center? (I live in California.)

The same question applies in #22 of I-130.

"Your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the USCIS office in: _______, _______."

What should I put in these blanks??

What is confusing me is, I am sending my packet to Chicago, but I live in California...

Can anyone clarify this for me?

Thank you.

You put down the district office that serves your area (although I saw some who had put chicago down and had no problems).

Thanks.

I am still confused though...

Where is my biometrics appointment going to be? Or the interview?

My LOCAL OFFICE (San Francisco) or my SERVICE CENTER (California Service Center)?

When people talk about "USCIS OFFICES," which are they talking about??

Your USCIS Local Office is where your biometrics and interview should take place and the USCIS Service Center is the office that will do the processing of the application :)

Actually the place where you have your biometrics done is the Application Support Center (ASC), which is not always the same place as your Local Office where you may be interviewed. In my case my biometrics were done in York, PA, but my interview was in Phildelphia. There are more ASCs than Offices, in my case York is closer to where I live than Philly.
