hi all!!

So curious about what proof of relationship needs to be shown AT the interview. So we have that big checklist for all the financial/background/medical/police information..but does anyone know what exactly we need for proof of relationship? we supplied a lot in our original I-129F petition (travel itinteraries together, photos together over 2.5 years, phone conversation logs, joint bank accnt statements, proof of joint address..) It is my understanding that the embassy has all that with them at the time of the interview, (because they have our original petition, right?) is that all correct??

also, can anyone make some more suggestions as to what you are bringing as proof of relationship.. thanks!

i have arranged for my fiance to bring a few cards from family and friends congratulating us on our engagement, print out of our emails while separated (separation will only have been 4 months), a oopy of an email i got for a bridal shop appointment for dresses, photos of us at our engagement party in the US, etc..

The CO that will interview you will have about 5-10 min. They will not spend a lot of time looking through all your documents. The key here is to show enough information/documents that will without a doubt demonstrate to the CO that you have a bonified relationship. So keep it simple. From what you have described, you have enough. So, bring that with you and if you are asked for something you already have it in your stack of stuff.

Good Luck.

There is a wealth of information in two places you need to make yourself familiar with. First, here on VJ go to your country's regional thread and next go to the website for the American Embassy in Armenia. Tons and Tons of information that can help guide you along the way.

Neither. The NOA2 is used for the AOS after marriage and should be a copy, and at your interview you maybe asked to show the original.

Always check your processing Embassy for current instructions.

Yes. Call the NVC and get your MNL# from them. Once you have the MNL# you can pay your interview fee, schedule your interview date, complete the DS-160, and schedule your medical. You have lost a lot of time so it's time to Rock and Roll!

Here is a little help to guide you along. Everything you will need for processing through USE Manila is contained at my website here. The tabs are set up in such a way that your processing from left to right and down the tab is each step in order of significance to your process. This information is for USE Manila and the K1 visa in the Philippines.

You should be calling NVC to get your MNL# now.

Also, there is a great many people over in the Philippines sub thread that can help answer any question you may have about the Philippines process.

That's great news. You are now in control of the process from here on out. No waiting for an appointment because you schedule it yourself online. No waiting for the medical or CFO as you schedule those around your schedule. These next steps are going to be awesome for you guys, because now you are going to see progress and not have to wait for it.

Don't wait for the "packet" because in the Philippines, because of PhilPost, it does not get delivered. My wife has been in the US for two years soon, and the packet never arrived at her place, according to her mother, and I doubt that it ever will.

So new update,

My fiancé's feet have warmed up a bit so he's saying he's still coming. I contacted the embassy in Luanda last Wednesday because they previously told me they were going to contact him with next steps when they initially received our docs from the NVC last month. They immediately emailed us back and scheduled an appt with him yesterday. I guess this was the equivalent of a packet 3, just an in person review of needed documents.

So he went to his meeting and it was fine (needs birth, police certificates, medical, etc), BUT, he was told that he needed his military records from Portugal...which you have to get in person (8 hr. flight from Angola):-(. So he's just figuring out a plan. It's a monkey wrench but I'm trying to stay positive. I will absolutely go meet him in Portugal because then we can spend some much needed time together and I can finally meet his family, which will be perfect.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers!

Thank you! But i was wondering, I tried to track the mnl case at ceac and it says invalid. Also my aunt had an interview recently and said that the Embassy is going to look for that letter(packet..i guess) that they sent out from the consulate. if I don't wait for it, I could be tagged as incomplete? Although I've found a downloadable file online containing their instruction letter. Should I just go ahead and download that? I'm just planning to wait for another 2 weeks to be contacted by the consulate. If they still do not contact me by then, we will be setting the schedule for interview. :)

For the CFO seminar, can I schedule it after the interview or should I wait for the passport and visa to be sent back to me?

At CEAC website you must look under Non-Immigrant even though the K1 is a immigrant visa. That should work for you.

Don't wait for the P3 as it never arrives in the Philippines. Head on over to my website (link is at the twisting arrow below), as I created it so that you can follow along step by step. The process for each step (tabs) and what is needed (sub menu) will answer most of your questions.

Do you have your MNL#? If so this is the step you are on now from my guide.
